B-QUIK RACING SIGNS OFF THE SEASON WITH DOUBLE PODIUM IN SEPANG

B-Quik Racing has wrapped up its best ever season on track with trips to the podium in both of the races that comprised the final round of the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup 2019, which was held at Sepang international Circuit last weekend.

Those visits to the rostrum came courtesy of Daniel Bilski in our No 27 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo. The Australian enjoyed a superb weekend and he was locked into the thick of the action from the green lights to chequered flag in each race, fighting his was past rival cars for position to eventually secure third place in both.

Henk Kiks in the team’s sister No 26 Audi arrived in Malaysia after the programme had got under way due to prior business commitments, however, he very quickly bedded in, built up his pace and a strong drive to P7 in Saturday’s Race 1 kicked off his weekend on a robust note. The Dutchman enjoyed less luck in Sunday afternoon’s Race 2 and after the morning’s qualifying session saw him lead out Row 4 the No 26 Audi was left stranded in the garage when a clutch problem reared its head at the very last moment.

This was the final round of the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup 2019 and the event was split into a day/night programme. Qualifying for Race 1 was held on Friday night with Race 1 taking place very late on Saturday night, immediately after the Sepang 1000km had finished. Race 1 was held on a wet and greasy track, the result of rain that had steadily fallen throughout most of the evening, coupled to the aftermath of a big grid endurance race held in those conditions. It gave the drivers a real challenge and Henk and Daniel immediately rose to it. Providing a complete contrast, Race 2 was held on Sunday afternoon in hot, dry and sunny conditions, but was equally explosive.

We have thoroughly enjoyed racing in the Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup and take many good memories away, including Daniel winning the ‘AM’ title in 2015 followed by the ‘Masters’ in 2016. We would like to congratulate Audi Sport Customer Racing Asia on a well organised series, that’s always been competitive and exciting as well as being the only championship that has brought GT3 level cars to the world of single make racing.

All-in-all a pretty good weekend in Malaysia for B-Quik Racing and now we immediately look ahead to next year. We have bigger and exciting new plans for 2020 which we will announce next month.

We do still have one more race this year though, the final round of Toyota Motorsport 2019, to be held in Chiang Mai this coming weekend, where Jerasak Kongplab from the B-Quik Junior Programme driver roster will drive our No 26 Toyota Vios in the hotly contested Vios Cup.
