B-QUIK ABSOLUTE RACING ANNOUNCES FIRST DRIVERS FOR THAILAND SUPER SERIES 2022

As the countdown to the first round of Thailand Super Series 2022 gets underway, B-Quik Absolute Racing is pleased to announce its first driver pairing for Super Car GT3. Henk Kiks and Eshan Pieris will share the #26 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2, as the team starts putting together its biggest and strongest line up ever.

Team Owner Henk returns to frontline GT3 action this year having stepped back to a GTM category Porsche 991 GT3 Cup in 2021 so we’re happy to have his vast experience, reliability and trademark pace back behind the wheel of an Audi GT3.

Eshan, meanwhile, joined us for the first time during the final round of the 2021 season where he paired up with Sandy Stuvik in the #1 car. The young Sri Lankan driver immediately gelled with the team and we’re delighted that he will join us for a full season.

Then Eshan was returning after a two season break due to the Covid situation as well as getting up to speed with the Audi and GT3 level cars in general after a career that so far has mostly encompassed single-seaters. So, pairing him up with Henk should allow him to develop and make for a well-balanced line up that can chase for points and podiums from the off.

This year we will be upgrading our roster of Audi GT3 LMS GT3s to the new 2022 “EVO 2” specification with the upgrade kits due to arrive shortly at our Bangkok raceshop and be fitted ready for the opening round in Bangsaen.

The four round TSS 2022 season will get underway on 29 June-3 July with the Bangsaen Grand Prix, the famous street race returning to the calendar following a two-year hiatus due to the knock on effects of the Covid 19 pandemic. The remainder of the season will involve back-to-back visits to the FIA Grade 1 Chang International Circuit in Buriram on 25-28 August, 27-30 October and 8-11 December respectively.

B-Quik Absolute Racing will enter four cars in Super Car GT3 for 2022, with further announcements to be made in the coming months. The team will also enter cars in TSS Super Car GTC and TSS Super Eco as well as in Toyota Gazoo Racing Motorsport, RAAT Endurance Series and the Honda City Hatchback One Make Race.

Henk Kiks (Team Owner & Driver, #26 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2): “Well, first thing to say is I’m happy to be back in the Audi again this year, I certainly enjoyed racing the Porsche last year, but it will be nice to have that GT3 package underneath me again. I’m also very happy to be sharing with Eshan. He joined us for the final race and he immediately slotted into the team, he’s got a lot of pace to unlock and is very motivated so I think we should be able to give it a real crack. In terms of the team, we have worked very hard over the close season to put together our biggest and best line up ever so we’re very excited to see how it unfolds. We should start with our strongest ever line up and we will be pushing to reclaim the titles.”

Eshan Pieris (Driver, #26 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2): “I’m happy to be joining B-Quik Absolute Racing again for 2022. It was nice to work with them for the last round at the end of 2021. I think there is a lot of potential and I am very excited to see what we can achieve together this year!”

Nicola Sgotto (Team Manager, Absolute Racing): “Personally, I am really happy to be back in the Thailand Super Series. It’s great to have Eshan back with us for a full season partnering with Henk, who needs no introduction. We’ll be as prepared as we can be and we think we have everything in hand. Making predictions at this point is difficult, but we’re a top team with top drivers, so we will give our all, both on and off the track.”
