ADAC GT MASTERS UNCHANGED WITH SEVEN RACE MEETINGS

The ongoing Corona crisis has meant that the ADAC GT Masters has had to restructure its race calendar for the 2020 season. The first of seven race weekends remaining on the 2020 schedule will take place from 31st July to 2nd August at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic. Should racing not prove possible there due to government rules and regulations or travel restrictions still in force, then the ADAC GT Masters will head to the Lausitzring as an alternative venue for those dates. Tickets already purchased remain valid for rescheduled events.

The dates for the four meetings following on from the season opener remain unchanged. The second round will take place at the Nürburgring (14th – 16th August) and then just one week later, the recently updated Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands will host the series (21st – 23rd August). The ADAC GT Masters will race at Hockenheim from 18th to 20th September and at the Sachsenring on the first weekend in October (2nd – 4th October) which is also a public holiday for the Tag der Deutschen Einheit, celebrating German Unity Day on Saturday, 3rd October. Racing at the Red Bull Ring has been rescheduled, and ADAC GT Masters teams and drivers will go head-to-head in Austria from 16th to 18th October. The final race weekend will be held from 23rd to 25th October in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

ADAC Motorsport Director Thomas Voss told us: “The health and welfare of everyone involved and that of spectators is our number one priority. We will continue to keep the situation under close review so as to be able to be flexible in our response as events dictate. The season opener in August marks the start of a calendar chock-full with seven meetings and an unchanged format for race weekends.”

The ADAC TCR Germany will line up under the banner of the ADAC GT Masters at all seven events while the ADAC GT4 Germany is on the programme for six of the seven meetings as originally planned. The ADAC Formula 4 intends to hold its races as support at the Nürburgring, Zandvoort, Hockenheim, Red Bull Ring and Oschersleben while the possibility of racing at the other ADAC GT Masters events is being looked into. The Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland will also still be part of the ADAC GT Masters line-up.

The new online programme ‘PS on Air – The Ravenol ADAC GT Masters Talk Show’ should fill in the time nicely for fans over the coming weeks. Every Sunday at 1.00 pm, our host, Patrick Simon, will bring you the latest news and developments from the ADAC GT Masters as he chats with drivers and team bosses. The live stream can be found on youtube.com/adac, on the ADAC GT Masters Facebook channel and also at adac.de/motorsport and ravenol.de.
