Will Owen and United Autosports have arrived in Italy for the second round of the 2018 European Le Mans Series, the 4 Hours of Monza. Finishing 9th at Paul Ricard was a great start to the season, but Owen and his teammates Hugo de Sadeleer and Wayne Boyd are ready to fight for the podium this weekend.

The American is very familiar with the 5.8-kilometer circuit after several laps of testing, as well as competing in the 4 Hours of Monza in 2017. A 60-minute practice session will be held tomorrow, May 11th, followed by a 90-minute practice session on Saturday, May 12th. The LMP2 class will have a 10-minute qualifying session at 2:20 p.m. local time on Saturday that will determine their starting position among the 18 total entries. On Sunday, May 12th, Owen will tackle the iconic circuit for the start of the 4 Hours of Monza at 12:30 p.m. local time.

Driver – Will Owen

“This round of the European Le Mans Series is definitely my favorite out of all of the venues. There’s good food, great culture, and great fans that come out to the race. So, I am excited for all of that and to drive on this track again. It’s a tricky race. Last year we didn’t have a very good race with some bad luck and mistakes. We all have personal goals this year to do better and the team is prepared to do a lot of things in practice to make sure we get the car to be as good as possible for the race. The braking is really important on this track with a lot of hard braking zones so we are focusing on that, especially with the rain in the forecast. This track has a lot of everything so it won’t be easy for anyone, but we will do our best and hope for a better result.”
