SIXTH IMSA WIN AT ROUND NINE FOR THE PORSCHE GT TEAM

With a one-two result, Porsche continues its winning streak in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. At the third to last race of the season, Patrick Pilet (France) and Nick Tandy (Great Britain) crossed the finish line in the Porsche 911 RSR as the overall winners. Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) and Earl Bamber (New Zealand) finished second driving the number 912 sister car and, thanks to their victories Long Beach, Mid-Ohio, and Canada’s Bowmanville, continue to hold the lead. The winners of the rounds at Sebring and Watkins Glen, Pilet and Tandy, managed to reduce the gap with their third win to eleven points in the drivers’ classification. In the GTLM class, Porsche also holds a clear lead the manufacturers’ classification with 304 points.

BMW TEAM RLL FINISHES SEVENTH AND EIGHTH AT VIR

BMW Team RLL had a difficult race in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway (USA), ultimately finishing seventh and eighth in the GTLM class. Having finished first and third there last season, the team could not equal the pace of the other GTLM competitors this time. The #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 finished 11th in the GTD class after an early race incident.

PORSCHE ON THE SUZUKA 10 HOURS PODIUM AFTER STONG CHARGE THROUGH THE FIELD

Porsche has finished the ten-hour race at Suzuka (Japan) on the podium. Dirk Werner (Germany), Matt Campbell (Australia) and Dennis Olsen (Norway) mounted a charge back up the order that ultimately netted them third place at the flag. Putting in a flawless drive, the pilots of the number 912 car fielded by Absolute Racing were able to make up places thanks to the tactics of their team. Japan’s Team LM corsa celebrated a podium finish in the Pro-Am category.

FIFTH PLACE FOR BMW TEAM SCHNITZER AT THE SUZUKA 10 HOURS

The BMW Team Schnitzer just missed out on the first podium finish of the season in the penultimate race of the Intercontinental GT Challenge season, the Suzuka 10 Hours (JPN). After Augusto Farfus (BRA) had secured pole position on Saturday in the #42 BMW M6 GT3, he and his team-mates Martin Tomczyk (GER) and Nick Yelloly (GBR) were involved in the battle for the podium for long periods. The trio completed the race in fifth place after 275 laps.
