AUGUSTO FARFUS AND BMW TEAM SCHNITZER RETURN TO MACAU

This coming weekend, the ‘Guia Circuit’ in Macau (CHN) hosts the grand finale of the 2019 GT season: the FIA GT World Cup. The top GT teams and drivers will battle it out to be crowned champions on the most demanding street circuit in the world. Last year, Augusto Farfus (BRA) and BMW Team Schnitzer won the title with the BMW M6 GT3, presenting BMW with its 24th victory in Macau. They return now with the goal of hanging on to their trophies. Meanwhile, BMW works driver Joel Eriksson (SWE) is set to make his GT debut in Macau with FIST-Team AAI.

AUDI’S GEOFF EMERY CLAIMS THIRD CONSECUTIVE AUSTRALIAN GT TITLE

Despite the best efforts of title rival Peter Hackett who went on to claim a second race win and the Sandown round victory in the Eggleston Motorsport Mercedes-AMG, Audi’s Geoff Emery emerged as the 2019 Australian GT Champion, the popular Victorian claiming his third consecutive title at the venue at which he and team-mate Garth Tander recorded Audi’s maiden endurance title in late September.

HARRY KING NAMED PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB JUNIOR FOR 2020 AND 2021 SEASONS

Harry King (18, Maidenhead) has been announced as the Porsche GB 2020 / 2021 Junior at the Porsche Carrera Cup GB ‘Night of Motorsport’ end of season awards. King succeeds 2019 Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Dan Harper in the role, following in the footsteps of Charlie Eastwood (2016 / 2017) and Josh Webster (2014 / 2015) who have both furthered their careers on the international motorsport stage.

WEC POLE POSTION FOR PORSCHE AT SHANGHAI

The second pole position at the third round for the new Porsche 911 RSR: Kévin Estre (France) and Michael Christensen (Denmark) beat the competition in the qualifying on Saturday on the 5.451-kilometre Shanghai International Circuit with a fabulous combined time of 1:59.579 minutes. At round three of the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship in China, the identical 515 hp sister car driven by Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) and Richard Lietz (Austria) heads into the four-hour race from position six on Sunday.

HACKETT CONTINUES AUSTRALIAN GT WINNING STREAK AT SANDOWN

Sandown provided just about everything during the opening day of action for the Australian GT season finale – challenging weather, an interrupted qualifying session, and a very condensed opening race all serving to test the title contenders, but once the action was over, there was a familiar face back in victory lane – Peter Hackett carding his third consecutive race win at Sandown to keep himself right in the title fight heading into the final two races of the year.
