BMW i ANDRETTI MOTORSPORT EAGER TO GET BACK TO WINNING WAYS AS FORMULA E RETURNS TO CHINA

VICTORY FOR LEE AND PICARIELLO AT THE INAUGURAL ASIA GT FESTIVAL

Craft-Bamboo Racing started the first race weekend of 2019 in style, with Alessio Picariello and Jeffrey Lee in the #88 Mercedes-AMG GT3 victorious on Sunday, while Frank Yu and Malaysian racing star Jazeman Jaafar in the sister #77 car finish 2nd after an enthralling battle which saw Jaafar challenging for the win during the entire second half of the opening race on Saturday, but unable to find a way past.

HABUL TAKES SECOND AGP WIN, BUT TWIGG HOLDS AUSTRALIAN GT POINTS LEAD

Reigning Intercontinental GT Challenge Bronze Drivers’ Champion Kenny Habul continued his winning streak at the Australian Grand Prix after a 20-year hiatus since his first laps of the circuit in an open-wheeler, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 driver storming from pole position to lead home Scott Taylor Motorsport team-mate Max Twigg and race three winner Peter Hackett to claim a second AMG 1-2-3 for the event.

GRT GRASSER RACING WITH SENSATIONAL WIN IN 12 HOURS OF SEBRING

After their amazing victory in the 24 Hours of Daytona in January, GRT Grasser Racing did it again this weekend. The green-orange Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo fielded by the team from Styria triumphed again in the second race of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship on Sebring’s famous circuit. And once more, it was the well-practised team of GT veterans, Mirko Bortolotti, Rolf Ineichen and Rik Breukers, who stood on the top step of the podium in the GTD class.

SUPER IN SEBRING: PORSCHE ALSO WINS THE TWELVE-HOUR RACE

Porsche has notched up yet another victory at the “Super Sebring” race weekend. Nick Tandy (Great Britain) and his French teammates Patrick Pilet and Frédéric Makowiecki took the flag in first place in the Porsche 911 RSR at the twelve-hour race of the IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship. With this success, the trio in the No. 911 car have not only repeated their win from last year, but also rounded off an extremely successful weekend for Porsche. A day earlier, the ca. 510 hp racing car from Weissach had won both GTE classes at the 1,000-mile race of the Sports Car World Endurance Championship WEC. The No. 912 sister car driven by Earl Bamber (New Zealand), Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) and Mathieu Jaminet (France) finished the thrilling long-distance classic in the USA on fifth place.

MEYER SHANK RACING SCORES SEVENTH AT SEBRING

A powerful run in rapidly changing conditions saw the No. 86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo lead 60 laps of the 67th annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on Saturday in round two of the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Despite strong pace and team execution, an unfortunate late race penalty brought the car down the order to finish seventh at Sebring International Raceway on Saturday.
