Lexus and AIM VASSER SULLIVAN are set to compete at Detroit’s Raceway at Belle Isle Park in a 100-minute sprint race on Saturday, coming off the team’s first victory earlier this month at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Will Owen has arrived with Juncos Racing to Motor City for the fifth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic.

The Paul Miller Racing team heads to the second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Sprint Cup this weekend as the series rolls into Motor City for the Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Isle.

The Belle Isle street circuit is located in the middle of the Detroit River and within view of General Motors headquarters. A GM powered race car has won every IMSA race since the series returned to the Motor City in 2007. Last year, Eric Curran and Felipe Nasr took the win in the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-V.R and were the first to celebrate by taking a dip in Scott Fountain. Nasr and new teammate Pipo Derani have a win a Sebring to their credit this year and currently lead the IMSA WeatherTech DPi points.

Following a challenging start to the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the drivers and crew at Starworks Motorsport are optimistic heading into their first street course race of the year, the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic in Detroit, Michigan. The three day festival of speed will take place May 30 to June 2, and with over 30 guests on site, Starworks Motorsport will race the No. 8 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO, looking to defend their back to back 2015 and 2016 wins.

Mustang Sampling Racing is gearing up for another street fight in the Motor City this weekend, and Joao Barbosa and Filipe Albuquerque are up to the challenge in Saturday’s Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear on the tight 2.3-mile Belle Isle Park circuit.
