GRAHAM RAHAL REJOINS ACURA TEAM PENSKE FOR PETIT LE MANS

IndyCar Series veteran driver Graham Rahal will return to compete for Acura Team Penske in next month’s Motul Petit Le Mans. Rahal will once again team up with Helio Castroneves and Ricky Taylor in the Acura Team Penske No. 7 DPi for the 10-hour endurance race at Road Atlanta. Rahal will step in for fellow IndyCar driver Alexander Rossi, who will be racing in Australia at the Bathurst 1000.

PODIUM NUMBER THREE FOR GRT GRASSER RACING IN THE BLANCPAIN GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE

Onto the home straight in the 2019 Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe: GRT Grasser Racing Team were contesting the penultimate race weekend of the season at the Nürburgring. With one podium appearance and a points finish, Gottfried Grasser’s outfit once again did him proud. Much of the credit for the result has to go to the pit crew. In the pit lane, the field is as tight as on the race track, and every last tenth of a second counts.

DOUBLE VICTORY FOR TEAM PANOZ RACING AT WATKINS GLEN

Team Panoz Racing achieved podiums across the board and extended Championship statuses at Watkins Glen International this weekend, with two wins and a second-place finish. Ian James in the #50 Panoz Avezzano bought home a win in the Sprint Race 1, but it was the #51 Panoz Avezzano, driven by Am pair Preston Calvert and Mathew Keegan in the Sprint-X Am category, who bought home a second-place in Sprint-X Race 1, followed by a win in Sprint-X Race 2.

COOL RACING TAKES WEC LMP2 VICTORY AT SILVERSTONE

After a complicated day for COOL RACING in ELMS yesterday, where the team was forced to withdraw from the race following the accident of Alexandre Coigny, the team was motivated to get back on track and do all they could for their first FIA World Endurance Championship race. And they did with a masterclass result, when Nicolas Lapierre and Antonin Borga offered LMP2 victory to their injured team mate Alexandre Coigny.

PERFECT DEBUT: ONE-TWO FOR THE NEW PORSCHE 911 RSR AT SILVERSTONE

The new Porsche 911 RSR (2019 model year) has secured a double victory at its race debut. At the season-opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Silverstone (Great Britain), the Italian Gianmaria Bruni and Richard Lietz from Austria crossed the finish line first in the No. 91 car in front of 49,600 spectators. The reigning world champions Michael Christensen (Denmark) and Kévin Estre (France) claimed second place in the ca. 515 hp No. 92 sister car. A perfect tactic from the world champion team, strong driving performances, swift pit stops, and a reliable and fast car in both dry and the wet conditions were the key factors for this double win.

UNITED AUTOSPORTS’ ORECA SHOWS STRONG PACE BUT SUFFERS EARLY HOME WEC RACE EXIT

Despite an unfortunate early retirement on home soil in the opening 4 Hours of Silverstone today (1 Sep), United Autosports showed very strong pace suggesting it will be a major force in the LMP2 category in its first full FIA World Endurance Championship season. The Leeds-based British team arrived at Silverstone for its first race meeting with just 680miles on the clock of its brand new Oreca 07 Gibson which had ran faultlessly in last month’s two-day WEC Prologue.

HARPER TIGHTENS PORSCHE CARRERA GB CHAMPIONSHIP GRIP AS WEBSTER SHINES

Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK, delivered two action-packed races as it stepped onto the international stage at Silverstone in support of the opening race of the 2019 / 2020 World Endurance Championship (WEC) season – the 4 Hours of Silverstone. On the same weekend that the 2019 Porsche 911 RSR made its racing debut, 18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR) and 2014 Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Josh Webster (Team Parker Racing) took victories at the championship’s blue riband weekend.
