BORTOLOTTI AND ENGLEHART KEEP ADAC GT MASTERS TITLE FIGHT ON THE BOIL WITH THIRD VICTORY

The Lamborghini pairing of Mirko Bortolotti (29, ITA) and Christian Engelhart (32, GER, both Orange1 by GRT Grasser) secured a third win of the season in Saturday’s ADAC GT Masters race at Hockenheim (Baden-Württemberg) to keep themselves in contention for the title in the Super Sports Car League. Second place went to Indy Dontje (26, NL) and Maximilian Götz (33, GER, both Mann-Filter Team HTP) in a Mercedes-AMG. Finishing third were pole-sitter Dennis Marschall (23, GER) and Carrie Schreiner (21, GER, both HCB-Rutronik Racing) in the best of the large Audi contingent. “A perfect day,” said Bortolotti. “I am very happy with our third win of the season. This success was extremely important to us.”

R-MOTORSPORT UNVEIL ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE CUP

In a press conference today at the Nürburgring, AF Racing AG announced a new key component of their international motor racing programme which has been strengthened even further. While planning to continue in the DTM and Blancpain GT3 race series’s, the Swiss company also announced that they will establish the new Aston Martin Vantage Cup by R-Motorsport series. Further plans with details for the motorsport future will be announced at a later stage.

CHRISTOPHER MIES OPENS ADAC GT MASTERS HOCKENHEIM WEEKEND WITH BEST TIME

Audi driver Christopher Mies (30, GER, Montaplast by Land-Motorsport) made a superb start to the penultimate race weekend of the ADAC GT Masters at Hockenheim. The 2016 champion was fastest in FP1. Porsche driver Matteo Cairoli (23, ITA, Küs Team75 Bernhard) took second place from Jimmy Eriksson (28, SWE, Team Zakspeed BKK Mobil Oil Racing) in the fastest Mercedes-AMG GT3. 

PORSCHE HEADS TO PENULTIMATE ROUND OF THE IMSA SEASON WITH EXTRA MOTIVATION

Championship leader Porsche is eager to continue its impressive streak in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the penultimate round of the season. At the upcoming race on the Laguna Seca Raceway (USA), the factory squad face a special challenge with its two ca. 510 hp Porsche 911 RSR. The tradition-steeped circuit in California is the only racetrack on the calendar where victory has so far evaded Porsche since the factory returned to the North American sports car series in 2014. In the GTD class, Pfaff Motorsports and Park Place Motorsports will each field a Porsche 911 GT3 R.
