GEAR RACING TEAMS UP WITH GRASSER TO FIELD LAMBORGHINI FOR 2020 IMSA WEATHERTECH SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP

GEAR Racing team drivers Katherine Legge and two-time IMSA GTD Champion Christina Nielsen will compete in the 2020 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD class on board a brand-new Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO. GEAR Racing joined forces with Grasser Racing Team to field the No. 19 car for the full season. GEAR is supplying drivers, sponsors, and additional team support.

THREE BMW M6 GT3 TO CONTEST THE 9 HOURS OF KYALAMI

The fifth race on the fifth continent draws the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) season to a close this weekend. At the legendary track in Kyalami (RSA), BMW Team Schnitzer is set to compete with a BMW M6 GT3 and will send a local hero, Sheldon van der Linde (RSA), to do battle. With the second race within a week, BMW Team Schnitzer master a huge organisational challenge, which was preceded by long and complex planning. In addition to the team from Freilassing, Walkenhorst Motorsport will also be competing in South Africa. Henry Walkenhorst’s (GER) team will field two BMW M6 GT3 at the IGTC season finale.

CONTENDERS AT THE READY FOR 2019 AUDI SPORT R8 LMS CUP TITLE SHOWDOWN

The battle for the final Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup title comes down to the wire this weekend at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit where five drivers will go head-to-head to become the series eighth champion. Leading the charge, with an 11-point lead, is The Bend Motorsport Park’s Yasser Shahin, but four rivals will be equally determined to capture the historic accolade. Alex Au of CTVS Racers by Absolute looks best placed to launch that challenge from second on the leaderboard, but 2018 champion Andrew Haryanto of Absolute Racing will also be one to watch as he sits just four points behind Au in third.

AUDI SPORT IN SOUTH AFRICA WITH TWO “FAST ZEBRAS”

Grand finale at the debut in South Africa: The Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) is visiting the African continent for the first time from November 21 to 23, on the occasion of closing its season. Audi Sport customer racing will have the chance of winning its sixth title in the only worldwide GT3 racing series there. Two teams and six drivers are representing Audi Sport on the circuit at Kyalami between Johannesburg and Pretoria.

AUDI AMBITIOUSLY BEGINS THE NEW FORMULA E SEASON

The new Formula E season kicks off with a double-header: On Friday and Saturday, the all-electric series will hold the first two in a total of 14 races this season on the outskirts of Riyadh. Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi from the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler team are the most successful pairing in the field and will be embarking on the world tour of five continents with their Audi e-tron FE06 as the challenger.

FIA GT WORLD CUP PODIUM FOR LAURENS VANTHOOR AND EARL BAMBER

Porsche has finished on the podium at the FIA GT World Cup in Macau (China) with two of Rowe Racing’s 911 GT3 R. The works drivers Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) and Earl Bamber (New Zealand) treated fans to a gripping fight in the Chinese metropolis and took the flag in second and third. The identical 500+hp vehicles fielded by Absolute Racing driven by Kévin Estre (France) and Alexandre Imperatori (Switzerland) retired early on the fast street circuit.

TWO PORSCHE 911 GT3 R ON THE FIA GT WORLD CUP QUALIFYING RACE PODIUM IN MACAU

At the qualifying race in China’s gamblers’ paradise of Macau, the Porsche drivers have secured excellent starting positions for the FIA GT World Cup (17 November). At the 12-lap event on the 6.1-kilometre street circuit, works drivers Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) claimed positions two and three. The two Porsche 911 GT3 R fielded by Rowe Racing will tackle the main race from the first and second grid row. In the identical 500+hp vehicle campaigned by Absolute Racing, Alexandre Imperatori (Switzerland) and Kévin Estre (France) achieved positions six and eight.

BLACK FALCON TAKES POLE FOR THE 2019 24H COTA USA

The Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT3 (#4, Ben Keating / Jeroen Bleekemolen / Felipe Fraga / Cooper MacNeil) has secured its first 24H SERIES pole position of the year at the season closing Hankook 24H COTA USA. Felipe Fraga posted a 2m 05.697s laptime around the 5.513km Circuit of the Americas, pulling the Mercedes-AMG almost half a second clear of the Toksport WRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 (#70, Nick Foster / Martin Berry / Eric Zang / George Kurtz) and giving an immense benchmark for teammate Jeroen Bleekemolen to try and beat during the closing stages of the session.
