For the Porsche customer teams, the two test races before the 24-hour highlight on the Eifel circuit concluded with acceptable results and important insights. On Saturday, works drivers Julien Andlauer (F), Matt Campbell (AUS) and Matthieu Jaminet (F) finished in the top six for their team Toksport WRT. On Sunday, the KCMG quartet Dennis Olsen (N), Earl Bamber (NZ), Josh Burdon (AUS) and Nick Tandy (GB) improved this result by one position.

With two three-hour qualification races, the dress rehearsal for the ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring took place this weekend. In the Sunday race, the #3 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed entry with Adam Christodoulou (GBR), Maximilian Götz (GER) and Fabian Schiller (GER) brought home a long-awaited victory following a strong recovery drive. On the previous day, Maro Engel (GER), Jules Gounon (FRA) and Daniel Juncadella (ESP) had already scored a podium result with the #4 sister car. In the upcoming 50th running of the 24-hour race, Mercedes-AMG Teams Bilstein, GetSpeed and Landgraf as well as CP Racing and Schnitzelalm Racing are in the field with a first-class driver line-up and a total of seven Mercedes-AMG GT3s.

The BMW M Motorsport teams used the new format of the Qualifiers for the Nürburgring 24 Hours (GER) to put the finishing touches to their preparations for the highlight of the endurance season, which takes place on 28th/29th May. The new BMW M4 GT3 impressed in the two three-hour races, with two pole positions, a lap record, a one-two result and a further podium finish. On Saturday, the BMW Junior Team took victory ahead of the #99 BMW M4 GT3 of ROWE Racing. On Sunday, Dan Harper (GBR), Max Hesse (GER) and Neil Verhagen (USA) finished runner-up, despite a time penalty. BMW M GmbH, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2022, has announced some spectacular events to feature on the support programme for the 24-hour race; the BMW M Race of Legends with the BMW M2 CS Racing and test drives for media representatives in current BMW M cars.

2019-2020 LMP2 FIA World Endurance Teams’ Trophy winners United Autosports head to the Le Mans 24 Hours next month with the #23 placed second – #22 sixth – in this year’s standings, aiming to repeat its magnificent triumph in the French “classic” from two years ago.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing earned its first win of the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season after a dramatic, weather-affected 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. 

The Porsche GT Team has concluded the six-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps in second and fifth place with the two 911 RSR. With this result at round two of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC, the sports car manufacturer defended its lead in the classification – in the manufacturers’ as well as in the drivers’ categories. The Porsche customer team Dempsey-Proton Racing won the GTE-Am class with the No. 77 car. At the end of an eventful race in Belgium, Christian Ried from Germany and his British teammates Sebastian Priaulx and Harry Tincknell crossed the finish line first in the 378 kW (515 PS) 911 from Weissach.

The Porsche GT Team has continued its impressive streak of pole positions in the FIA World Endurance Championship. In the hunt for top times on the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, works driver Gianmaria Bruni planted the No. 91 Porsche 911 RSR on the first grid spot. Setting a lap time of 2:14.481 minutes, the Italian, who shares the car with Austria’s Richard Lietz, was the fastest GT driver on the 7.004-kilometre racetrack. The No. 92 sister car driven by Kévin Estre (France) and Michael Christensen (Denmark), the winners of the season opener in Sebring, take up the race from position two. For the last two years, the 378 kW (515 PS) 911 from Weissach has proven unbeatable in the GTE-Pro class qualifying.

When the season in the DTM Classic Cup season is getting underway at DEKRA Lausitzring Turn 1 powered by Autohero from 20-22 May 2022, fans can look forward to seeing a major name from the rich DTM history returning. The newly-formed team Schnitzer Classic with Stefen Trautwein and his son Yannik at the helm is looking after the legacy of the traditional racing stable from Freilassing near the German-Austrian border and is running a BMW M3 E30 in the DTM Classic Cup, raced by no less than Kris Nissen.

Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS will join a festival of motor racing next weekend (13-15 May) when Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours plays host to the second stop on the 2022 Sprint Cup schedule. 

The 2022 endurance season in Australia begins under new auspices. The rules of the Bathurst 12 Hour from May 13 to 15 state that the previous purely professional driver lineups are a thing of the past. Instead, professional race drivers will be racing alongside amateurs at the breathtaking Mount Panorama. Six of the seven Audi cars entered this year will start in this Pro-Am category. Another R8 LMS will take part in the Am classification. The four professionals Nathanaël Berthon, Ricardo Feller, Kelvin van der Linde and Markus Winkelhock represent the Audi Sport brand at the eleventh start at Bathurst.

For BMW M Motorsport, this year’s 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (GER) is dominated by the 50th anniversary of BMW M. Many activities are planned, and the ‘50 years of BMW M’ theme will be a prominent feature out on the track. BMW M Motorsport team Schubert Motorsport will compete with a BMW M4 GT3 sporting a special anniversary livery, which will be unveiled this weekend during the qualifying races on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.

The FAV HOTEL FUJI GT 450km RACE, Round 2 of the 2022 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series was held on May 4th (Wed. holiday) at Fuji Speedway (one lap 4,563m × 100 laps). Big accidents caused the race to be stopped twice, resulting in its finish at the end of 62 laps, which saw the GT500 class victory go to the No. 8 ARTA NSX-GT (Tomoki Nojiri/Nirei Fukuzumi), while the GT300 class win went to the No. 10 TANAX GAINER GT-R (Ryuichiro Tomita/Riki Okusa/Yusuke Shiotsu).

Porsche heads to round two of the season leading the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC. After clinching a class win at the season opener in Sebring (USA), the factory squad now aims to follow up with another victory at the six-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps. The latest generation of the ca. 378 kW (515 PS) Porsche 911 RSR remains unbeaten on the Formula 1 racetrack in Belgium. In the 2019/2020 and 2021 seasons, the 911 dominated the GTE-Pro class on the Ardennes circuit. Porsche is eager to continue this streak this coming weekend.

The 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season is now in full swing following last weekend’s Sprint Cup opener at Brands Hatch.

The Aston Martin Vantage GTE returns to action in the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship [WEC] in the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps this weekend, having made a winning start to its GTE-Am class campaign with the Sebring 1000 Miles (in the USA), back in March.

Official Qualifying sessions for the FAV HOTEL FUJI GT 450km RACE, Round 2 of the 2022 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, took place on May 3rd at Fuji Speedway (one lap 4,563 m) in Shizuoka Prefecture. The GT500 class Pole Position was won by Sakaguchi in the No. 19 WedsSport ADVAN GR Supra (Yuji Kunimoto/Sena Sakamoto). The GT300 class pole was taken by Yamauchi in the No. 61 SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT (Takuto Iguchi/Hideki Yamauchi) for the second straight time following Round 1. These two cars will start from the front of their respective class grids in tomorrow’s (May 4th) race.

The Paul Miller Racing team led laps early and notched a fourth-place finish in today’s Monterey Sports Car Championship race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
