PORSCHE FACTORY AND CUSTOMER TEAMS RETURN TO MID-OHIO

FLYING LIZARD MOTORSPORTS SCORES PODIUM IN VIRGINIA

Flying Lizard Motorsports earned its 94th podium on Saturday at Virginia International Raceway at the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Virginia. Mike Hedlund and the No. 45 Audi R8 LMS finished tenth overall in race two, scoring a second place finish in the GTSA class, Hedlund’s second podium of the 2018 season.

POLE POSITION, WIN AND PODIUM: BWT MUCKE MOTORSPORT DO EXTREMELY WELL AT AUTODROM MOST

With pole position, fastest lap, victory and podium, the opener at the Autodrom Most could not have gone better for BWT Mücke Motorsport. For this second round of the ADAC GT Masters season, the team travelled from Berlin to the Czech Republic, about 90 kilometres northwest of Prague, where the three Audi R8 LMS cars with the driver pairings of Jeffrey Schmidt and Stefan Mücke in the #26, Ricardo Feller and Christopher Haase in the #25 and Markus Winkelhock and Mike David Ortmann in the #24 racked up quite a few impressive performances.

AUDI DRIVER FILIP SALAQUARDA: “MOST IS GOING TO BE A GREAT WEEKEND”

What is only the second round of the season in Most this weekend will be the stand-out meeting of the year for Team ISR and driver Filip Salaquarda (34, CZ), who are making their debut in the ADAC GT Masters in 2018. The Czech outfit will be lining up in front of a home crowd with their Audi R8 LMS shared by the local favourite and the German Frank Stippler (43, GER) as the Super Sports Car League debuts in the Czech Republic.

FLYING LIZARD MOTORSPORTS PREPARED FOR SUCCESS AT VIR

After a month break in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS calendar, Flying Lizard Motorsports returns to VIRginia International Raceway this weekend for rounds three and four of the SprintX championship with Mike Hedlund, Adam Merzon, and Ryan Eversley in the pair of Audi R8 LMS GT4 cars. In preparation for the event, the team has completed three days of testing at this particular track, in both dry and wet conditions, confident with the progress made entering into the next rounds of the championship.

On Tuesday, the 1973 Ligier JS 2 from the Onroak Automotive workshops set off to tackle the French roads in the Tour Auto Optic 2ooo. While awaiting its return Onroak Automotive is hard at work preparing and restoring other cars for the next round of the Masters Endurance Legends, one of the curtain-raisers to the French Formula 1 Grand Prix in June at Paul Ricard, and Le Mans Classic in July.

From their garages, the teams have an clean view of the Eiffel Tower and before the track is closed for race day, buses with tourists travel through the pit lane. “For me, Paris is one of the most beautiful locations and a highlight for us drivers,” says Lucas di Grassi.
