Maxson and Willis claim two series titles for BENIK

BENIK team drivers dominated from coast to coast over the past two weekends, adding two race wins, multiple podiums, and championship titles to their already stout program. BENIK drivers began their success on the East Coast at the Vortex ROK National Championship, which took place September 16-18 at the Orlando Kart Center in Orlando, Florida. The team then continued their success on the West Coast at the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix, the final round of the SuperKarts! USA (SKUSA) ProKart Challenge, taking place on September 23-25 in Lancaster, California.

At the ROK National Championship, BENIK drivers dominated the field in the Vortex Mini ROK category. Tyler Maxson started off by qualifying on the pole, with over two tenths of a second gap on second place. Teammate Luca Mars took the win in both heats and the prefinal. Maxson came back and took home the win in the final, giving the BENIK teammates a combined clean sweep for the weekend. Maxson also secured the championship for the series in the Mini ROK category, followed by teammate Reece Gold in second.

The following weekend at the Streets of Lancaster Grand Prix, BENIK drivers continued their success. BENIK secured the pole in both IAME Micro Swift and Mini Swift categories, with drivers taking the top three spots in Mini Swift. BENIK drivers continued their domination into the final and swept the podium: Carson Morgan taking home the win, Dominic Gorden in second, and Anthony Willis in third. Teammate Cole Cotham secured the fourth position. Willis also secured the title in the Mini Swift class for the SKUSA California ProKart Challenge.

“We are really happy with the results on both coasts over the past two weeks,” expressed BENIK Kart Co-Founder Nick Mitchell. “We have a lot of momentum entering the final three months of the season and will look to turn that momentum into results at several major events around the world.”

With only a few races left on the 2016 calendar, BENIK drivers will focus on the ROK International Final in Italy as well as the US Open Finale and SuperKarts! USA SuperNationals in Las Vegas. With the teams three biggest events closing out their season, planning and signing of drivers for 2017 campaigns has already begun, as the MAXSpeed Entertainment Florida Winter Tour will kick off in January.
