The Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup series will be trailblazing into new territory this weekend as it supports the opening round of the ‘Supercars Championship’ on the Adelaide Street Circuit and ventures into Australia for the first time – so we’re very pleased to announce that it’s all come together for B-Quik Racing to be on the grid with Daniel Bilski reuniting with the series.
Although this one-off appearance has been slightly last minute, Daniel is the logical choice in the cockpit for the weekend as he is a former double champion in this series, having won the ‘Amateur’ title in 2015 and the ‘Masters’ crown a year later.
The Australian, who will run with his customary #27, will be in tip top form too as he comes off the back of winning the season closing Super Car GTM Plus race, held during the final round of Thailand Super Series 2017 at Chang International Circuit last October, a sensational drive in the pouring rain that netted him a first series win for the Audi R8 LMS Cup.
Those two titles and that sensational victory in Buriram – which were all achieved with the B-Quik team behind him – came at the wheel of the last-generation version of the ‘R8 Cup’, so he will have to acclimatise himself very quickly to the new-generation machine.
However, in another plus, the Audi Sport R8 Cup championship is going all-Amateur for 2018 and that going to be a huge boost to Daniel’s aspirations and means he will be slugging it out for the overall podium.
Supporting V8 Supercars Adelaide 500 guarantees a race weekend that’s going to be packed to the rafters with fans. The Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup is a double header with Race 1 on Saturday (3 March) and Race 2 on Sunday (4 March).
It looks to be a superb, ground breaking season for the Audi Sport R8 Cup ahead and so were really excited to be on the grid this weekend – and to kick off our 2018 racing season.
