DOUBLE VICTORY FOR PORSCHE AT THE 24 HOURS OF LE MANS

Porsche has won the 86th edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours in both the GTE-Pro and GTE-Am classes and has extended their lead in the FIA WEC Championship. In the factory-run Porsche 911 RSR with the starting number 92, Kévin Estre (France), Michael Christensen (Denmark) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) crossed the finish line first in the GTE-Pro class on Sunday afternoon. Second place went to the #91 sister car driven by Richard Lietz (Austria), Frédéric Makowiecki (France) and Gianmaria Bruni (Italy).

PORSCHE DEFENDS ONE-TWO LEAD AT LE MANS

The #92 Porsche 911 RSR continues to lead the GTE-Pro class after two-thirds of the race distance. At the long-distance classic in Le Mans, the trio line-up of Kévin Estre (France), Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) and Michael Christensen (Denmark) turned flawless laps during the night to defend their lead. Richard Lietz (Austria), Frédéric Makowiecki (France) and Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) are also performing strongly and currently rank second.

SECOND IMSA WIN OF THE SEASON FOR THE PORSCHE 911 RSR

Clinching the second win of the season at Mid-Ohio, Porsche grabbed the lead of the IMSA SportsCar Championship. In a nail-biting finale, Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) and Earl Bamber (New Zealand) snatched victory with the 510 hp Porsche 911 RSR on Sunday at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and celebrated their first win in the USA as teammates at the most gripping race of the season by now.

PORSCHE TARGETS SECOND WIN OF THE IMSA SEASON

Following the season-opening rounds at the long distance classics of Daytona and Sebring in Florida, the IMSA SportsCar Championship now heads to California. Coming up on April 14 is the 100-minute event at Long Beach, the shortest race of the year. On the 3.167-kilometre street circuit, the Porsche GT Team fields two Porsche 911 RSR racers against three other automobile manufacturers in the strongly represented GTLM class.

FINAL SHAKEDOWN FOR PORSCHE: THE PROLOGUE OF THE WEC SUPER SEASON

On April 6, Porsche heads into the new season of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the two-day Prologue on the Circuit Paul Ricard. On the racetrack in the south of France, which opened in 1970, the Porsche GT Team will simulate an entire race weekend with the two 911 RSR in order to tackle the 15-month Super Season perfectly prepared. Porsche’s factory driver Gianmaria Bruni celebrates his comeback to the world’s most important race series for sports cars.

VICTORY AND THIRD PLACE FOR PORSCHE AT SEBRING

The Porsche 911 RSR has scored its first win of the IMSA SportsCar Championship season at the Sebring International Raceway in Florida. At the 12 Hours of Sebring, the oldest and toughest sports car race in the USA, Patrick Pilet (France), Nick Tandy (Great Britain) and Frédéric Makowiecki (France) won the GTLM class with the 510 hp race car from Weissach after a heart-stopping finale on Saturday.

IMSA SEBRING 12 HOURS QUALIFYING ROUND UP

Cadillac DPi-V.R on Pole for Sebring 12 Hour Under perfect Florida weather conditions of sunshine and 80-degrees, the Cadillac four-some took to the 3.74-mile, 17-turn historic race track for the 15-minute qualifying session this afternoon. TEST TIME: 16 PORSCHE RACERS TO GET PRE-SEASON SEBRING TEST THIS WEEK

Sixteen (16) Porsches come to Sebring, Florida for IMSA’s open test at Sebring International Raceway on February 20 – 23. Testing on the bumpy 17-turn track has been ongoing for many teams but this is the first official IMSA-sanctioned test for all these classes in preparation for the March 17 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. The Porsche GT Team has entered both factory 911 RSRs in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTLM class for the test.
