MERCEDES-AMG DOMINATES THE ADAC GT MASTERS AT THE NURBURGRING

Drago Racing Team ZVO, and drivers Jules Gounon (27/F) and Fabian Schiller (24/Troisdorf), won a thrilling eighth race of this season’s ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring on Sunday. Schiller took the chequered flag in the #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo after 42 laps of racing to claim the second win of the ADAC GT Masters race weekend for Mercedes-AMG. “It was a great race. Our car was fantastic and we had good pace. We finished third on Saturday, now the win – I am totally happy,” said the 24-year-old. 23,500 fans witnessed spectacular and exciting motorsport, enjoyed action-packed racing in the support series, and set another crowd record in the German GT Championship at the Nürburgring.

MARCIELLO AND ENGEL WIN IN THE ADAC GT MASTERS AT THE NURBURGRING

Raffaele Marciello (27/I) leads the ADAC GT Masters at the halfway point of the season. After impressing in this morning’s qualifying, the pole-sitter from Mann-Filter Team Landgraf was on top form again in Saturday afternoon’s race at the Nürburgring. Together with his partner Maro Engel (36/Monte Carlo) in the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, Marciello won the seventh of the 14 races in the German GT Championship to claim his first victory of the season and move to the top of the championship standings. “I am obviously very happy today and delighted with the win. However, there is always room for improvement. We must also perform well in the coming races,” said Marciello, who goes into the second half of the season on Sunday as championship leader.

RICARDO FELLER AND CHRISTOPHER MIES ARE 2021 GERMAN GT CHAMPIONS

Grand finale, drama aplenty, and a nail-biting climax to the title race – but in the end, they did enough: Ricardo Feller (21/CH) and Christopher Mies (32/Düsseldorf, both Montaplast by Land-Motorsport) won the German GT Championship in the final race at the Nürburgring. Defending champion Michael Ammermüller (35/Rotthalmünster) and Porsche works driver Mathieu Jaminet (27/F, both SSR Performance) got the maximum out of the last race and claimed their fourth win of the season. In the end, however, tenth place was enough for Feller and Mies to take the title with a slender lead of just four points. This was title number two for Mies, who was previously crowned champion in 2016, and the maiden title for Feller. Second place went to Marco Holzer (33/Bobingen) and Joel Eriksson (23/S, both Küs Team Bernhard) in another Porsche 911 GT3 R, ahead of Lamborghini drivers Rolf Ineichen (43/CH) and Franck Perera (37/F, both GRT Grasser Racing Team). “It feels mega,” said champion Christopher Mies. “The race was really nerve-wracking. It was brutally close from the start, but we did enough in the end. It was very emotional today.”

FELLER/MIES WIN AT THE NURBURGRING, THREE-WAY BATTLE FOR THE GERMAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE DECIDE ON SUNDAY

Match point for the championship leaders, setback for the chasing pack: The title race in the German GT Championship goes down the final race on Sunday at the Nürburgring. Audi drivers Ricardo Feller (21/CH) and Christopher Mies (32/Düsseldorf, both Montaplast by Land-Motorsport) produced a commanding display to claim their third win of the season in the penultimate race of the year, and significantly extended their lead at the top of the table in the process. However, three pairs of drivers still have title aspirations going into the final race. They include the pair who finished runner-up in race one, Mathieu Jaminet (27/F) and Michael Ammermüller (35/Rotthalmünster, both SSR Performance). Third place on Saturday went to their fellow Porsche drivers Christian Engelhart (34/Starnberg) and Thomas Preining (23/A, both Küs Team Bernhard). “That was absolutely perfect today. Third pole, third race win, and we extended our lead. That puts us in the perfect position for the race on Sunday,” said a victorious Feller. “We are extremely motivated ahead of tomorrow.”

The ADAC GT Masters will line up at a strong mix of seven attractive circuits in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands in 2022, and will also feature a new highlight. WEERING AND SPINELLI TAKE LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE LIGHTS-TO-FLAG VICTORY IN NURBURGRING RACE 1

Johan Kraan Motorsports’ Max Weering and Loris Spinelli claimed a dominant lights-to-flag victory in the opening Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe race of the weekend at the Nürburgring. The #61 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo led from pole position thanks to a quite brilliant first stint from Spinelli, with Weering moving firmly back into title contention after maintaining the advantage after the mandatory pit-stop cycle.

OREGON TEAM REACHES CRUCIAL POINT IN LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE CHALLENGE

Oregon Team hits the track this coming weekend for the fifth of six Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe rounds as the one-make series heads to the Nürburgring. After claiming their fourth win at Spa one month ago, Kevin Gilardoni and Leonardo Pulcini look at the German races as a crucial moment of the season having a 21-point margin over the second. A margin that the team led by Jerry Canevisio and Piergiorgio Testa aims to increase.

THE GERMAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP TO HOLD FINALE AT THE NURBUGRING

The title in the German GT Championship will be decided in the Eifel region; the Nürburgring is set to host a final weekend of the ADAC GT Masters for the first time. The races that were unable to be held at the beginning of August as planned due to the flood disaster in the region have been rescheduled for 5 to 7 November. The champions of the ADAC GT4 Germany, ADAC Formula 4 and ADAC TCR Germany will also be decided in the Eifel region as part of the supporting programme of the ADAC GT Masters. All tickets already purchased for the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring remain valid for the new date and do not need to be exchanged.

THE ADAC GT MASTERS UNABLE TO RACE AT THE NURBURGRING AT THE START OF AUGUST

After the tragic flood disaster in the Eifel and the surrounding regions, the Nürburgring and its infrastructure will continue to be used by rescue services as a headquarters for coordinating relief efforts in the region until 8th August at the earliest. Under these circumstances, it is no longer to hold the fourth race weekend of the German GT Championship at the Nürburgring at the start of August, as was originally planned. An alternative date or venue are currently being assessed and will be announced shortly.

ADAC GT MASTERS SETS COURSE FOR SEASON 15

The organisers of the ADAC GT Masters are already planning ahead for 2021. The GT series enters its 15th season next year, and the 14 races will once again be contested over seven race weekends at venues in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. For the first time, the ADAC GT Masters championship will gain official recognition from the German Motor Sport Association (DMSB): the series will henceforth assume the status of ‘Internationale Deutsche GT-Meisterschaft’ (International German GT Championship), and the drivers and teams will compete for the title of International German GT Champion. The curtain-raiser to the 2021 ADAC GT Masters will be hosted by Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on the weekend of 14th – 16th May..
