ESM SEEKS TO DEFEND PETIT LE MANS WIN AT IMSA FINALE

Riding the momentum of last month’s victory at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Tequila Patrón ESM will enter the final race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship looking to defend their 2017 Petit Le Mans victory at Road Atlanta. The 21st anniversary of the Motul Petit Le Mans will feature ten hours of racing in both the day and night, challenging man and machine to battle adversity and finish the season with a coveted endurance victory.

PORSCHE GT TEAM FIELDS CARS WITH LEGENDARY DESIGN AT ROAD ATLANTA

Porsche tackles the final round of the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2018 in Braselton, Georgia (11 to 13 October) with its cars sporting the historic factory livery from 1998. Painted with the distinctive blue and red-orange stripes, the two Porsche 911 RSR racers evoke memories of the 911 GT1, which scored overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1998. Twenty years ago, an identical model started from pole position in the famous Road Atlanta race. It was at the inaugural running of the event under the name “Petit Le Mans”. Facing Ferrari, BMW, Ford and Chevrolet, the Porsche GT Team now aims to build on those unforgettable successes with the two 510 hp race vehicles from Weissach. 

ESM SECURES VICTORY AT LAGUNA SECA

Tequila Patrón ESM returned to victory circle this weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, starting from the rear of the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship field to win the Continental Monterey Grand Prix by ten seconds. The No. 22 Nissan Onroak DPi of Pipo Derani and Johannes van Overbeek won its second race of 2018, also clinching victory at the Twelve Hours of Sebring earlier this season.

PAUL MILLER RACING KEEPS IMSA GTD POINTS LEAD AFTER FOURTH PLACE FINISH AT LAGUNA SECA

Sunday afternoon at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Paul Miller Racing put forth an incredible display of driving expertise and strategy execution to finish in fourth place in the Continental Monterey Grand Prix. Co-drivers Madison Snow and Bryan Sellers endured a chaotic race to defend their points lead over the No. 86 Acura. Heading into the final round at Road Atlanta, Paul Miller Racing holds a six point lead for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

ESM HEADS TO LAGUNA SECA FOR CONTINENTAL MONTEREY GRAND PRIX

This weekend, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship returns to the newly renamed WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for round nine of the 2018 prototype championship. The 2018 season has proven to be a challenging one for Tequila Patrón ESM, but the two car Nissan prototype team is ready for the final two races of the season, starting with the Continental Monterey Grand Prix in central California.

PAUL MILLER RACING REMAINS POINTS LEADER FOLLOWING CHALLENGING RACE AT VIR

Sunday afternoon’s Michelin GT Challenge at VIRginia International Raceway proved to be a challenging race for IMSA GTD points leaders Paul Miller Racing. The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 team started in fifth and suffered contact from another car, but pressed on to finish in sixth position, keeping a thirteen point lead in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

PODIUM FOR PORSCHE 911 GT3 R AT VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

Wright Motorsports celebrated their second podium result of this year‘s IMSA SportsCar Championship on Sunday with Porsche works driver Patrick Long (USA) and Porsche Selected Driver Christina Nielsen (Denmark). After winning the Road America race with the Porsche 911 GT3 R, they followed up with another top result, scoring second in the GTD class at the Virginia International Raceway. At round nine of the GTLM class, Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) secured fifth place in the Porsche 911 RSR with the starting number 912. A technical defect after about an hour put an early end to the race for the sister car shared by Nick Tandy (Great Britain) and Patrick Pilet (France). 

IMSA FRONT ROW START FOR PORSCHE AT VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

At the Virginia International Raceway, the Porsche GT Team has secured positions two and eight in the GTLM class. In the qualifying for the IMSA SportsCar Championship, the Porsche 911 RSR with the starting number 911 was driven by Patrick Pilet. On a track wet with rain, the Frenchman achieved his fastest time on the last lap. With 1:56.170 minutes, he secured position two in the close session. On Sunday, he joins forces with Nick Tandy (Great Britain) to tackle the race over two hours and 40 minutes. Earl Bamber planted the car with the starting number 912 on P8 with a time of 1:57.874 minutes. The New Zealander will drive the first stint at round nine of the championship before handing the car to his teammate Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium).
