GRASSER RACING SECURES PODIUM IN GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE SEASON OPENER

GRT celebrated a successful start to the 2023 season last weekend in Italy. For the Austrian Lamborghini team, the opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup Powered by AWS was up at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza on April 22 and 23. On the iconic circuit just outside Milan, 55 entries took to the first test of strength in the prestigious endurance series. For Grasser Racing, the race debut with the new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 proved a success with a podium in the Silver Cup.

EIGHT BMW M4 GT3s AT GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE SEASON OPENER AT MONZA

More M Power than ever before: A record contingent of eight BMW M4 GT3s will take to the grid for this weekend’s opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS (GTWC) at Monza (ITA). Never before have so many of BMW M Motorsport’s top GT3 cars started a race together. In the battle for overall victory in race one of the Endurance Cup, BMW M Team WRT and ROWE Racing will each run two works-assisted BMW M4 GT3, driven by a total of twelve BMW M works drivers. They include nine-time motorcycle world champion Valentino Rossi (ITA), who will contest all of this season’s GTWC races with his iconic number 46, beginning with a home outing in Italy.

GRT READY FOR GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE SEASON OPENER AT MONZA

Two Lamborghinis for a déjà vu the Italian way. A new chapter begins for the Grasser Racing Team from April 21 to 23. At the season opener of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, the squad from Austria will celebrate their race premiere with the new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2. The third generation of the GT3 machine from Lamborghini Squadra Corse follows in the footsteps of its ancestors at a historic venue in Monza. GRT will start the new era with two cars on the legendary Grand Prix circuit next weekend. The number 58 entry will be driven by Ricky Capo, Sam Neary and Fabrizio Crestani. There is a driver change in the sister car. In the number 85, Kay van Berlo shares the cockpit with Clemens Schmid and Benjamin Hites.

GRT ALL SET FOR THE 2023 GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE SEASON

In a month’s time, the 2023 season will finally get underway for GRT at the world-famous Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. After the long winter break, the opening round of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup will take place at the Grand Prix circuit in Italy. The Lamborghini team from Austria will field two new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2s in their return to the top-class endurance series. With the number 85 car already featuring the line-up for the season at the official tests, the squad led by team boss Gottfried Grasser has now also finalized the pairing for the sister car.

RECORD SEASON FOR AUDI CUSTOMER RACING

Audi Sport customer racing has never won as many titles with its teams as it did this year. In the 14th season of the customer racing program, teams all over the world celebrated remarkable successes in individual competitions as well as in championships at sprint and endurance distances. The balance is spread across Europe, Asia, North America, Australia with New Zealand and, for the first time, Africa.

ROWE RACING SO CLOSE TO PODIUM AFTER STRONG SPA DEBUT FOR THE BMW M4 GT3

Around two hours and just a bit of luck were all that was missing from an otherwise perfect debut for the BMW M4 GT3 at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL). Tyre damage to both ROWE Racing cars prevented a deserved podium finish after a superb, faultless performance. Making their Spa debut, the BMW Junior Team with Dan Harper (GBR), Max Hesse (GER) and Neil Verhagen (USA) chalked up an outstanding fifth place overall. In the #98 car, Nick Catsburg (NED), Augusto Farfus (BRA) and Nick Yelloly (GBR) battled for the lead for virtually the entire race before tyre damage put paid to their chances around 120 minutes before the finish. The trio crossed the line in sixth place.

In this year’s 74th running of the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa, it will again be front-and-center to contest for one of racing’s most coveted titles on arguably the biggest GT racing stages in the world.

PORSCHE CUSTOMER TEAMS SET FOR THE 24 HOURS OF SPA

A total of 13 Porsche 911 GT3 R are entered for this year’s 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on 30/31 July. Five of the over 368 kW (500 PS) 911 contest the pro-category and have excellent chances to score overall victory at the world’s largest GT3 endurance classic. On the occasion of the event, Porsche Motorsport unveils the latest generation of a GT3 race car for customer racing.

FIVE BMW M4 GT3 TO LINE IN THE 24 HOURS OF SPA

For the BMW M Motorsport teams and drivers, the next big highlight of the endurance season is just around the corner: the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL) on 30th/31st July. ROWE Racing Team fields two BMW M4 GT3 in the Pro class, and will hope to challenge for the overall victory. The BMW Junior Team is making its Spa debut in the number 50 car. Walkenhorst Motorsport and ST Racing also line up with a total of three cars in the Cup classes, as the BMW M4 GT3 makes its first appearance in the biggest GT3 race in the world. BMW is the record winner of the 24h Spa-Francorchamps, with 24 victories to its name.
