A FULL GRID FOR THE 2022 GERMAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP

The International German GT Championship will again feature a strong field when the 2022 season gets underway. By mid-December, 18 teams had already taken the opportunity to secure a starting place for 30 super sports cars in the 2022 ADAC GT Masters. The field is both high quality and diverse, with cars from six manufacturers registered so far: Audi, BMW, Corvette, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Mercedes-AMG. More manufacturers could yet join the field between now and the season-opener at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 21st to 24th April 2022.

THRILLING TITLE RACE: HOME STRETCH IN THE GERMAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP IN HOCKENHEIM

It doesn’t get much closer than this: Championship leaders Ricardo Feller (21/CH) and Christopher Mies (31/Düsseldorf, both Montaplast by Land-Motorsport) hold a slender two-point lead going into the penultimate race weekend of this season’s German GT Championship. The title race looks set to become even hotter in Hockenheim this weekend (22nd to 24th October). Fans can look forward to a thrilling race weekend, at which Aston Martin returns with the Vantage GT3, adding to the diversity in the field of roughly 30 super sports cars. Fans can follow the races from the grandstands and the open, fan-friendly paddock.

WHO WILL BE THE HALF WAY LEADER IN THE GERMAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE LAUSITZRING

When the German GT Championship lines up this weekend (10th to 12th September), it heralds the start of an exciting autumn: not only will the halfway leader be determined at the DEKRA Lausitzring, but the teams and drivers will also be jostling for position in what promises to be a thrilling title race. The situation heading to the shortest track on the calendar could hardly be more intriguing: the top six in the championship – super sports cars from no fewer than six different manufacturers – are separated by just 15 points. Fans can watch the ADAC GT Masters live at the circuit again and, for the first time since 2019, will be permitted in the paddock, on the pit walk and at the autograph session again.

THE GERMAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP LINES UP AT THE RED BULL RING

re! The German GT Championship travels to the Red Bull Ring this weekend (11th to 13th June) for round two of the season. For the first time this year, fans are able to cheer the teams on from the grandstands. Two Porsche drivers head to the fastest track on the calendar as championship leaders in the ADAC GT Masters: defending champion Michael Ammermüller (35/Rotthalmünster) and works driver Mathieu Jaminet (26/F, both SSR Performance). Thanks to a hygiene and infection protection concept developed by the Red Bull Ring in collaboration with the ADAC GT Masters, up to 3,000 fans per day are permitted at the racetrack.

MERCEDES-AMG DRIVERS MARCIELLO/BUHK WIN THE SEASON-OPENER IN THE GERMAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP

Raffaele Marciello (26/I) and Maximilian Buhk (28/Hamburg) overcame difficult conditions to take victory in the Saturday race at the opening round of this season’s ADAC GT Masters in Oschersleben. In doing so, they made it a successful debut for their team, Mann-Filter Team Landgraf – HTP/WWR, in the German GT Championship. Second place went to Lamborghini works drivers Mirko Bortolotti (31/I) and Albert Costa Balboa (31/E, GRT Grasser Racing Team), ahead of Ricardo Feller (20/CH) and Christopher Mies (31/Heiligenhaus, both Montaplast by Land-Motorsport) in the best-placed Audi. “It feels great to win again,” said a victorious Marciello. “The car feels very good and we were able to control the race.”
