United Autosports are pleased to confirm that Phil Hanson and Job van Uitert will return to the team for the 2021 European Le Mans Series.

Such has been the frenetic pace of this year’s condensed motor racing year due to the worldwide COVID virus, Phil Hanson is only now able to reflect on what has been an unbelievably successful and history-making 2020. In terms of this year’s truncated season Phil, from Sunningdale, Berkshire, achieved his three, pre-season goals in stunning style. Having only turned 21-years-old two months earlier, Phil won the Le Mans 24 Hours for the first time – the pinnacle of sportscar racing for a driver. Phil’s victory in the United Autosports entered Oreca earned him the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 title – becoming the youngest-ever WEC champion in his first full WEC season – with still a race remaining.

Finlay Hutchison’s first season of European Le Mans Series action concluded with a seventh place finish in the LMGTE class during round five at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve on Sunday, 1st November, after an enforced fightback was required due to an early excursion for team-mate Rodrigo Sales.

RLR MSport was on course to bookend the 2020 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) with podiums, until a starter motor failure removed the team from third place at Autodromo Internacional do Algarve (30 October-1 November).

RLR MSport’s season may be set to receive an extra ‘teenage kick’, as 17-year old Lithuanian Gustas Grinbergas joins Malthe Jakobsen and James Dayson for the 2020 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) 4 Hours of Monza (9-11 October).

Following the Le Mans September break for the European Le Mans Series, the championship heads to Italy for the penultimate 4-hour round of the season with Nielsen Racing team hoping to add more silverware to the team’s 2020 cabinet.

Ferrari F488 GTE EVO racer Finlay Hutchison again delivered impressive speed and racecraft during the third round of the European Le Mans Series at Paul Ricard in France on Saturday, 29th August, on his way to seventh in the LMGTE class with the JMW Motorsport team.

Another podium was snatched from RLR MSport’s grasp when the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) raced deep into the night in the Le Castellet 240 at Circuit Paul Ricard (28-29 August).

United Autosports have won the Le Castellet 240 ELMS race after Phil Hanson and Filipe Albuquerque brought their #22 Oreca 07 home in first place after a tough race in mixed weather conditions at Paul Ricard (Saturday 29 August). The pair started on pole after Filipe scored the team’s fifth consecutive ELMS pole position.

The European Le Mans Series returns to Paul Ricard for a second visit, replacing Barcelona as the day-to-night race and Nielsen Racing is aiming to validate the recent progress made with new Duqueine D08 with a strong showing from both crews.

United Autosports make their way back to Paul Ricard this weekend (28-29 August) for round three of the European Le Mans Series and the Michelin Le Mans Cup.

RLR MSport finished the dramatic European Le Mans Series (ELMS) 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in seventh, having once again fought for silverware with Malthe Jakobsen, James Dayson and Robert Megennis (7-9 August).
