Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Ferrari clinched their second consecutive FIA World Endurance Championship title. The result came at the end of the 8 Hours of Bahrain, won by teammates Miguel Molina and Antonio Fuoco at the wheel of the number 52 Ferrari of AF Corse. The Prancing Horse thus ended the final World Endurance Championship season for the LMGTE Pro class cars on a high note. The Maranello company won four constructors’ titles (2016, 2017, 2021 and 2022) with the 488 GTE. James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi also drove it to three drivers’ titles (2017, 2021 and 2022). This is Ferrari’s sixteenth World Endurance Championship title. It was sealed in the 488 GTE’s last race in the premier class for production-derived GTs.

The Aston Martin Vantage GTE is a world-beater once again after the British-built racing car clinched the FIA World Endurance Trophies for GTE Am drivers and teams at a dramatic season showdown – the BAPCO 8 Hours of Bahrain.

Aston Martin’s Vantage GTE will crown a new set of world champion team and drivers this weekend, for the second time in three years, as the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship reaches its climax with this weekend’s BAPCO 8 Hours of Bahrain on Saturday.

Thanks to a formidable lap from James Calado, AF Corse’s no. 51 488 GTE will kick off the 8 Hours of Bahrain from the front row in LMGTE Pro class, the final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. In LMGTE Am class, first pole position of the season for Cetilar Racing alongside leaders of the general standings AF Corse.

GT World Champion manufacturer Aston Martin has qualified on the front row for the 8 Hours of Bahrain FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and taken pole position in the GTE Am class ahead of the crucial season finale.

World GT Manufacturers’ champions Aston Martin embark on the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) finale – the 8 Hours of Bahrain – this weekend, aiming to record a level of title glory unprecedented in the British luxury sportscar brand’s history. Aston Martin has enjoyed its most successful endurance racing season since 1959, with the turbo-charged 4-litre V8 Vantage GTE.

Aston Martin Racing will retain the services of British sportscar ace Richard Westbrook for the final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) – the 8 Hours of Bahrain – where he will race alongside Paul Dalla Lana (CDN) and Ross Gunn (GB) in the works GTE Am Aston Martin Vantage.

For that last 2019 meeting, Cool Racing would have preferred to end up with a top three/four result, nevertheless, the 8 hours of Bahrain being the longest race of the WEC season so far, was also the longest race of the new Swiss team in world endurance racing. The main objective was therefore to gather information and experience, especially at night, to go to the chequered flag and bring the car back without making any mistakes. These objectives were fulfilled, since Oreca #ANA42 takes the points of 7th LMP2.

Team Cetilar Racing is set for the sole 8-hour race of the FIA WEC Championship scheduled this weekend in Bahrain. At the Sakhir circuit Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi make their comeback at the wheel of the AF Corse-powered #47 Dallara LMP2 car for the turning point of the 2019-2020 season heading to fourth out of eight rounds before the Lone Star Le Mans at Austin (Texas) on 22/23 February that repleces the Saõ Paulo race.
