B-Quik Absolute Racing is pleased to announce the driver line up of the #26 Audi R8 LMS evo II for next month’s Sepang 12 Hours with Henk Kiks, Peter Kox and Christopher Haase linking up in a bid for victory.

It’s a driver roster that has already tasted victory in this event, which was previously run from 2000-2016, as all three drivers have stood on the top step of the podium.

Haase and Kox both have overall wins to their name, firstly they shared a win back in 2010, while Haase added another outright victory in the final running of the event in 2016, that coming behind the wheel of an Audi R8 GT3.

Meanwhile, Kiks and Kox drove a B-Quik Racing entered #26 Audi R8 LMS Cup to the podium in 2015 before a year later they won the ‘GTC’ class. For Henk that in fact made it three podium finishes from three starts in GTC. The Dutch pair have also previously shared a Porsche in Thailand Super Series – Super Car GT3.

So, this driver trio certainly knows the circuit inside out, in the daylight or dark, they are ‘win proven’ and hungry to keep up that record and add another win.

There’s in fact a lot of history between the two Dutchmen and one German. Aside from Kox and Haase claiming a win together, just as Kiks and Kox did, Haase is Kox’s long time protégé and they have raced together many times while Kiks and Kox were classmates at school!

While Kox knows the B-Quik side of the team well, it will be Haase’s first time in black and yellow and the former FIA GT3 European Champion brings huge winning experience to the equation, not least in endurance racing where he can count winning the Nürburgring 24 Hours on an impressive long distance CV. The German is also familiar with the team as back in 2018 he finished third with Absolute Racing in the Suzuka 10 Hours.

B-Quik Absolute Racing is very excited to have Haase join the team and to have Kox return after more than half a decade. We’re confident that adding in Kik’s vast experience with Sepang, the Audi R8 GT3 and with the team, we have a stellar line up that’s well positioned to chase for victory.

The event starts on track on Friday (17 March) with unofficial practice in the morning followed by two official Free Practice sessions in the afternoon and evening, the latter which will see the night time acclimatisation running.

Race day (Saturday 18 March) starts with qualifying in the early morning before the race gets underway at 1430.

Henk Kiks: “What a way to start off the new racing year, to welcome one of the most famous and toughest races in Asia back to the calendar. I’m excited to be back with Peter, he brings so much more to the team than just racecraft, his presence lifts and pushes the everyone forward. Christopher’s record speaks for itself so it’s going to be exciting to have him added to the package. We’ve enjoyed highs and lows with this race in the past, taking a win but having another victory snatched away though a car niggle, but that’s endurance racing, why it’s so challenging and why we love it.”

Peter Kox: “I’m looking forward to joining B-Quik Absolute Racing again! Since my last race with the team, the Sepang 12 Hours in 2016, the team has made a massive step forward on all fronts, so I’m very happy to come back. To join the car with my old school mate Henk and Christopher makes it more than worthwhile, not the least as we will be competitive. Christopher and I won the Sepang 12 Hours in 2010 and we were teammates in the FIA GT1 World Championship in 2010, so we go a long way back.”

Christopher Haase: “It’s great to join B-Quik Absolute Racing, my long-term mentor Peter Kox and Henk Kiks. The Sepang 12 Hours is a great race and due to the tropical weather very challenging for teams and drivers and of course car setup to keep the tyres alive. So far I had the chance to win this race twice already so I’m looking forward to hitting the track soon.”
