Will Owen is back to racing this weekend for the first round of the 2018 European Le Mans Series. Owen will kick off his second year racing for American/British based team, United Autosports in the #32 Ligier JSP217 at the Paul Ricard circuit for the 4 Hours of Castellet 2018.

Owen arrived in France several days prior to the race weekend for pre-season testing in unfavorable conditions. The rain continued to be hit-or-miss throughout the week and into today when he had his first practice session of the event with teammates Hugo de Sadeleer and Wayne Boyd. Another practice session will take place tomorrow as well as the first qualifying round of the year.

Owen and United Autosports will battle against 18 other LMP2 class entries to be on the podium on Sunday, April 15th at noon local time in a race that will endure 240-minutes. For more information and to stream live sessions visit: https://www.europeanlemansseries.com/en/

Driver – Will Owen

“We have tested a lot in the past couple of days during the Prologue of the 2018 ELMS season. Testing has been productive, but the weather kept us from getting the exact results we had hoped for. It’s been raining the majority of this past week so we haven’t been able to get as many dry laps as we wanted to test the dry set-up of the car. However, the rain experience is useful for everyone on the team. Wayne Boyd, our new teammate is feeling up to speed and comfortable in the car so that was a big benefit of the Prologue. Every team is in the same situation with the conditions, so that will be kept in mind and keep us level for the weekend ahead. We feel confident as a team and confident with the car.”
