Cetilar Villorba Corse finished eleventh overall the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring, which was a very challenging third round of the 2018 European Le Mans Series 2018, with the crew formed by Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Felipe Nasr at the wheel of the Dallara P217 Gibson.
After being the first Dallara in qualifying, a promising start and a competitive fight for a top-5 position, the Italian team, that had bet on rain, had to overcome some difficulties when, on the contrary, the track did remain dry. However, the team was awarded as the best crew with a Bronze driver at the end of the race (Lacorte was also the fastest one on Friday’s Bronze test). Now the team led by Raimondo Amadio is already looking at the next round at Silverstone, to be held in August 17-18, where Cetilar Villorba Corse will bring some aerodynamic evolutions on track.
Team Principal Amadio says: “First of all we are happy for the ‘Bronze trophy’. This prize confirms once again Roberto Lacorte’s commitment to a very professional championship. Overall, we were hoping and I believe we would have deserved something more, specially considering our first part of the race. Fate did not help the team when the expected rain actually did not fall, but, after this, we are already working for the next race. Some small aerodynamic evolutions are coming at the front of our LMP2 prototype and we are aiming to a positive weekend at Silverstone before the final part of the season”.
