Toro Verde GT is pleased to announce it will return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB for the 2023 season, with a two-car line-up for the United Kingdom’s fastest one-make series.
After a successful maiden season in the championship in 2022 which concluded with third place overall in the Pro-Am category and a number of podium appearances, the team will be hoping to continue and improve on that form as it once again joins the popular British Touring Car support package, with an estimated trackside attendance of 400,00 fans across the season.
Pro-Am Frazer McFadden is set to jump behind the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car for his first season in the championship, having raced Radicals for three years prior to testing with the team. With a background in Motocross, the championship presents a new challenge for the 26-year-old who is keen to soak up as much knowledge about the car as he can as the season progresses.
David Fairbrother rounds out the two-car entry from the Am category, with years of Porsche experience under his belt. Despite racing his last full season in the championship five years ago, the Yorkshire racer never strayed far from sportscar racing, with stints in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, Fanatec GT2 European Series and most recently the Gulf 12 Hours in Abu Dhabi.
The Porsche Carrera Cup GB kicks off at Donington Park over the weekend of 22/23 April, taking place over eight action packed weekends before coming to a close at Brands Hatch in October.

“I had a really good few years racing Radicals, winning the rookie cup in my first year and coming third last season. I wanted a new challenge and decided the Porsche Carrera Cup GB would be a great opportunity to push myself.
“So far in testing we’ve been sitting around the middle of the Pro-Ams, which is promising as it’s such a competitive field. The car feels great, so I’m hopeful that we’ll have a good season. I’m treating this as a learning year as it will be my first time racing a car like this, but it would be nice to get a few podiums along the way.”

“It’s been a while since my last full season in the Porsche Carrera Cup, so I’m heading into the season with a little bit of trepidation but also a little bit of hope. We’re just going to try our best to start off on the right foot and do the best that we can. This championship is always good fun, with a very competitive field. I just love the Porsche Carrera Cup, it’s the best single make series in the world in my opinion.
“If I were to set a goal for the upcoming season it would be to finish every race. Every time I do the Carrera Cup I come into it with almost zero testing, so being able to get to the chequered flag every round would be brilliant. In 2017, the first time I ever sat in the car was in the holding area of Brands Hatch for the first round, and I said to Chris Jones, ‘what do I do?’ and he replied, ‘good luck’, shut the door and left. We’re here to race, have a good time and do our best.
“It’s another close field this year, there’s Justin Sherwood in the Am category who’s a good strong peddler, so if I can keep somewhere near him, we’ll be alright.”
