TEAM REDLINE RACING TO CONTINUE WITH MICAH STANLEY IN THE PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB CHAMPIONSHIP
Team Redline Racing have retained the services of Micah Stanley for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB this year, with the 2021 Pro Am runner up returning for his second season in the championship.
Micah is the third confirmed driver in the Teesside team’s entry for this year’s Carrera Cup GB, joining potential Pro Am title contender Nathan Harrison and the current Porsche GB Junior driver Adam Smalley in the Pro class.
The 21 year old rising star made a huge impression in his debut Porsche campaign last year. A brilliant Pro Am class victory in his first race was followed by three further race wins and a total of nine podium finishes en-route to second place in the final class standings.
Micah, who has British/German nationality and was born and raised in Monaco, returned to racing last year after having to sit out the 2020 season due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. Prior to that, he raced GT4 machinery in the European GT4 Series and British GT Championship.
Simon Leonard – Managing Director: “We thoroughly enjoyed working with Micah [Stanley] last year, so couldn’t be happier to have him back with the team. He showed brilliant speed through his debut season and produced some eye-catching performances. He’s done a good job so far testing the new car, so we’re confident that he’ll be a competitive force once again this year.”
Micah Stanley: “I’m really happy to be returning the Porsche Carrera Cup GB with Team Redline Racing. Last year was my first full season back into racing after sitting out due to COVID travel restrictions and Redline were instrumental in the success we had in such a competitive championship. I have already been out testing in the new car and really can’t wait for the season to get started.”
Entering its 20th year in 2022, the Porsche Carrera Cup GB is one of the most competitive and exciting championships in the UK. Utilising identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars, the series has been the launchpad for a number of professional sportscar and GT drivers.
The 2022 season will be contested over eight events at the best circuits in the UK, all in support of the British Touring Car Championship.
