Team Parker Racing is delighted to announce that it will make its debut appearance at the challenging Gulf 12 Hours Bahrain as Derek Pierce, Andy Meyrick, and Euan McKay compete in a second-generation Bentley Continental GT3.
The race will be held at Bahrain international Circuit, in the Sakhir desert, for the first time in its history, moving from its traditional home of Yas Marina, in the nearby United Arab Emirates for this edition of the race.
Derek, a regular with Team Parker Racing, has competed in what was formerly known as the Blancpain Endurance Series (now the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup) and had planned to race in that series with the team once again in 2020, before having to amend his plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andy is also a regular with the team and the car, having been a factory Bentley driver for a number of years, helping to develop the Continental GT3, as well as giving it its debut at the 2013 Gulf 12 Hours. He took a privateer win and fourth overall at his first Le Mans 24 Hours, has stood on the podium at the Sebring 12 Hours, and is currently director of the BRDC’s SuperStars programme.
Euan, meanwhile, took part in GT World Challenge Europe with Team Parker Racing, in the Bentley Motorsport Academy Continental GT3, impressing both the team and the manufacturer with his pace, knowledge, and application. He has also taken part in the Gulf 12 Hours, in 2017, though will be making his debut at the Bahrain circuit.
The Gulf 12 Hours Bahrain will get underway with a three-hour free practice session on Thursday, January 7th. The following day there will be three more practice sessions, each 50-minutes in length, before three separate 15-minute qualifying periods. The race itself will be split into two six-hour halves, to be held on Saturday, January 9th, with a two-hour break in between.

“I’m excited to be going back to the Gulf 12 Hours with Team Parker Racing in the Bentley. It will be a little different this year with the location change, but it will be great to team up with Derek again who is a fantastic driver. It will be my first time driving with Euan – and knowing he’s done a great job with Team Parker means we have a great crew that I know will work well together.”

“I was thrilled to get the call from Stuart to race in the Gulf 12 Hours Bahrain with Derek and Andy. I have done the race once before, in 2017, but that was in Abu Dhabi, so I haven’t raced in Bahrain. It looks like a nice track and there has been some exciting racing there recently with F1 and by all accounts it should be a good circuit for the Bentley.
“I am looking forward to getting out there, teaming up with the guys, and hopefully we can bring home some silverware. I also want to add that I am grateful to Tom Hodgson and Paul Williams for their support this year, without which I wouldn’t be able to do this event.”
