Following her hometown weekend at COTA, Taylor Hagler will return to VIRginia International Raceway for the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS weekend June 4-6th. Competing in the Pro-Am category, Hagler will be teamed with Jacob Abel in the No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo for the third stop on the SRO calendar.
The start of the 2021 season began on a high note for Hagler with back-to-back podium visits after racing to third-place finishes in Race 1 and 2. Although Hagler will make her first start in the Acura NSX at VIR – it will be her fourth race start at the rural Virginia course.
Her time spent at VIR includes a fourth-place finish in TC America competition in 2019. Racers Edge Motorsports also has a winning history at VIR, claiming three class victories in the last four visits to the 3.27-mile course.
“VIR is one of the more technical tracks that we go to and the Acura NSX will be well suited here,” said Hagler. “The Racers Edge Motorsports team has had success at VIR, so we know the car will start out with a good baseline and will excel from there. I’m looking forward to getting our championship hunt back on track.”
The race weekend at VIRginia International Raceway also marks the first time in 14 months that fans will have access to the paddock.
“We are happy to welcome back fans to the track,” said Hagler. “It had been over a year of no fans and I have missed that element of the race weekend. We are going to do our best to put on a good race event for them and hopefully welcome a few more faces as Acura fans.”
Hagler will wheel the No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo in two 90-minute races at VIRginia International Raceway. Race 1 will take place Saturday, June 5th at 1:15PM ET with Race 1 on Sunday, June 6th at 1:45PM ET. Both races will be live streamed at Youtube.com/GTWorld.
