Taylor Hagler and Dakota Dickerson gave Racers Edge Motorsports its first Pro Am victory in Fanatec World Challenge America powered by AWS with a visit to the overall podium on Saturday at Road America.
Hagler qualified on the front row of the class with with a lap of 2:09.874-seconds in the No. 93 Acura NSX GT3.
At the start of the race, she was able to continue to improve her pace and be on par with the Pro class leaders towards the end of the stint. Taylor would maintain her position in second in the Pro Am class through the duration of her 17 lap stint on the high speed Wisconsin circuit.
Dickerson gained the class lead on the pit stop exchange at the midway point of the race, and brought the car home in third-overall position.
The win at Road America is Hagler’s first SRO victory.
The young Texan scored her first SRO podium in her rookie season, and was delighted to add to her roster of success with a breakthrough class victory on Saturday.
“Honestly, this was probably one of my best drives to date,” Hagler said after stepping out of the Acura and being congratulated by team owner Joe Mirachi. “We didn’t get a lot of practice with the rain and a red flag, so qualifying was like my practice. Then, in the race, I just kept getting better and better. Having both of our coaches Ricky (Taylor) and Ryan (Eversley) here are a lot of help, and the team did a great job helping me get up to speed here. I’ve never driven a GT3 car here before, but being able to follow the other Acura helped me get up to speed today. Then the team did an amazing job to put us in front. This has been a super-intense weekend, and I think Dakota (Dickerson) and I both had our best race of the season so far.”
Dickerson captured the overall pole for the final race of the weekend, turning a lap of 2:05.925-seconds. Sunday’s race is set to start at 2:15 p.m. CT.
