Strakka Racing is pleased to announce it has signed up Britcar Dunlop Endurance Champion Matt Greenwood and Belgian Kart Cup Champion Esteban Muth to its Junior Driver Development Programme.
Matt Greenwood, from Easingwold near York, is a talented 17-year-old who became the youngest-ever Britcar Dunlop Endurance Champion last year after an outstanding season-long performance. This followed his strong progress through the European Prokart Endurance Championship, Junior Saloon Car Championship and BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship.
17-year-old Belgian Esteban Muth began racing in karts at the age of four, winning several national karting championships and accolades. His debut year in single-seaters in 2018 saw him compete in the French F4 Championship, finishing on the podium seven times. He then made his mark on the Castrol Toyota Racing Series, taking one victory and three podiums on his way to finishing as the second highest rookie. Esteban also drove in the first round of Formula Renault Eurocup.
The duo will progress their racing capabilities through driver development coaching with Silverstone-based Strakka. They will receive one-to-one coaching, utilising the team’s in-house driver development simulator to hone their racing craft with the support of Strakka’s highly experienced engineers, who will provide data analysis and feedback. The pair will also carry out a number of tests in Mercedes-AMG GT3 and GT4 cars in order to prepare them for racing opportunities in the future.
They will also receive support away from the track with the Strakka Performance coaches delivering a world-class physical and nutritional programme to ensure Greenwood and Muth are at peak physical condition for on-track performance.
Matt Greenwood: “I can’t wait to start training with Strakka Racing. There are so many talented drivers out there; motorsport is a really competitive arena and working with a race-winning team will help me to keep improving. For me, winning the Le Mans 24-Hour race is the ultimate goal and Strakka’s endurance experience makes it the perfect team to help make that come true.”
Esteban Muth: “This is a very exciting and important time of my career and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Strakka Racing. After success in karting and as I embark on the next stage of my career, it’s important for me to have an extra edge over the competition and I believe that Strakka can help me in this area. I am looking forward to working hard and getting started.”
Jay Davenport, Strakka Racing Director: “Matt and Esteban have shown that they have got the makings of competitive racing drivers and we look forward to working with them both to further their skills and help them both progress through the GT racing ranks.”
