The two SSR Performance Porsche 911 GT3 R are on their way to the penultimate DTM event of the season at the Red Bull Ring. Dennis Olsen (NOR) recently celebrated the team’s first DTM victory at Spa.
This weekend, SSR Performance is going to Styria in Austria. The seventh event of the DTM season takes place at the Red Bull Ring. After the team celebrated the first pole position for Porsche at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Dennis Olsen’s premier victory, expectations are high.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R in their unmistakable SSR Performance Design should stand out on the 4.318-kilometer route. With a maximum incline of 12%, the Red Bull Ring has a number of challenges that need to be mastered.
The squad with its two vehicles, #92 and #94, is currently in third place in the DTM team classification. Thanks to his strong upward trend, Dennis Olsen was able to move to fifth place in the drivers’ championship. But teammate Laurens Vanthoor is also on the hunt for a podium finish this weekend.
This year, SSR Performance is counting on the support of Laco watches – the manufacturer with tradition and passion. The high-quality production of wristwatches with dedication and attention to detail has a long tradition at the Pforzheim watch manufacturer Laco. The company proudly looks back on almost 100 years of company history and still has the claim that the founders made in 1925: to produce watches that are characterized by high-quality workmanship, reliability and contemporary design.
Stefan Schlund, team owner: “After we were able to come up with a really strong performance at Spa, the focus for the coming weekend at the Red Bull Ring will once again be on strategy. The aim is to show constant top performance on both race days in order to be able to score important points again. We are also looking forward to the track, where we have always been able to count on a lot of support from the public and supporters and will certainly be able to do so again this time.”
Mario Schuhbauer, team principal SSR Performance: “Spa was a very successful weekend. The win motivated the whole team and we are now looking forward to the last four races. At the Red Bull Ring it is important to get all the factors straight to the point. That is our aim.”
Laurens Vanthoor, driver #92: “We took a step forward at Spa. It is now a question of implementing this progress. I hope to get closer to my goal of winning at the Red Bull Ring.”
Dennis Olsen, driver #94: “I am really looking forward to the Red Bull Ring. The track could be difficult for us, but we saw that qualifying is essential for a good result. We hope that we can then bring the performance to the point. The weather certainly plays a role too.”
