Scott Huffaker – Driver of the #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07-Gibson LMP2
“I was introduced to PR1 through a mutual friend in 2016 and began racing with them in the Pacific F2000 series. In early 2019, I began testing with PR1 to race in the IMSA Prototype Challenge series and competed in several races with them before being nominated and ultimately winning the Team USA Scholarship. It has been a great four years racing with PR1 and I’m looking forward to racing with them again this year.”
Simon Trummer – Driver of the #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07-Gibson LMP2
“I am looking forward to racing at Road Atlanta this weekend. Last year, we came in fifth place overall but this year the goal is to stand on the top step of the podium. We have a great driver lineup, team and car. We’re ready to have a strong weekend.”
Patrick Kelly – Driver of the #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07-Gibson LMP2
“I have been anxiously waiting to get back in the car since Road America. We have three sessions on Friday so it’ll be very busy. Still, I am looking forward to a competitive weekend at one of the greatest tracks in North America if not the world!”
Bobby Oergel – Team Principal
“This will be a very special event for the team. Road Atlanta is an iconic track and will definitely require everyone to be on top of the situation at all times. Patrick Kelly and Simon Trummer have been doing a great job and we’re very excited to be able to have Scott Huffaker joining us for the endurance portion. Scott has been with the team for four years now and has shown his ability to rise to all the occasions we’ve been able to throw at him. It’s great to have these kind of long term relationships with both Scott Huffaker and Patrick Kelly being in the program for more than a few years, adding to that is Simon’s experience and abilities to help everyone around him. The crew has done a great job getting things ready and we really hope to have a smooth week in Georgia.”
Ray Mathiasen – Team Principal
“Once again we’ll have to watch this weekend’s race on TV. I want to welcome Scott Huffaker to our driver lineup for Road Atlanta which, based on our performance at Road America, gives me comfort that we have the lineup that should give us the opportunity to finish P1 this weekend. I wish Bobby and the team great success at Road Atlanta. We’ll miss everyone and wish this pandemic was over.”
