The official start of the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech Championship Season begins this weekend with the 58th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07-Gibson LMP2 is set to be piloted by Gabriel Aubry, Nick Boulle, Simon Trummer, and Ben Keating for the only 24-hour endurance race on the 2020 IMSA schedule.

This event marks Aubry’s second consecutive Rolex 24 with PR1/Mathiasen. Boulle is also back to tackle the 3.56-mile high-banked tri-oval with PR1. This is Trummer’s and Keating’s first year racing with PR1/Mathiasen. Trummer is a veteran of this historic race, securing a sixth place finish in 2018 in the prototype class. That same year, Keating won his second consecutive IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup GTD title. This year, the two time GTD champion will race in both the LMP2 and GTD class.

Qualifying for the season opener at Daytona will begin at 4:15 P.M. EST on Thursday, January 23. Live coverage starts at 4:05 P.M. EST on IMSA.tv. The green flag to mark the start of the 58th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona is at 1:40 P.M EST on Saturday, January 25th. Ben Keating – Driver of the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07-Gibson LMP2

“The 2020 edition of the Rolex 24 will be my 10th year in a row to compete in the event. In 5 of those 10 years, I’ve been a competitor in two different cars. What is exciting for me this year is that I will be in two different classes.
This is my first event with PR1 Motorsports. I met Bobby for the first time at the IMSA banquet back in October, and everything has come together extremely smoothly since then. It has been a few years since I competed in an LMP2 car, but I absolutely love the car. The PR1 guys know how to make this car work well, and everything at the Roar test weekend was awesome. Great people. Great teammates. Great car. I am very excited to be with this team for the Rolex 24.”

Simon Trummer – Driver of the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07-Gibson LMP2

“Im very happy to be part of the biggest endurance race in the United States again. During my first Rolex 24 I took home fifth overall. This year our goal is to be on the top step of the podium in the LMP2 class. We have a very strong driver line up, a great team and a powerful car. I am looking forward to this weekend! “

Nick Boulle – Driver of the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07-Gibson LMP2

“I’ve raced the 24 Hours of Daytona with PR1 Motorsports twice now and I like the way they run the car and program. Everyone is super focused and shows up to win. Our driver lineup is certainly one to be reckoned with…Simon & Gaby are super professional and fast while Ben is certainly one of if not the strongest Bronze-rated drivers in the world — in any category. On top of that, I felt like our approach to the races worked really well as a group. Everyone is clearly on the same team coming in to the crown jewel of North American Endurance Racing.

I am feeling good with the race coming up next week. I can’t wait to see what we can do! “

Gaby Aubry – Driver of the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports Oreca 07-Gibson LMP2

“ I am excited to be back with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports for the second consecutive year racing this iconic event. Everyone on the team has done a great job preparing for 2020. We have very strong drivers and a solid car. We are ready to work our way to a podium finish.”
