The Paul Miller Racing team heads back to the Northeast this weekend for a GT-only round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Lime Rock Park.
Drivers Madison Snow and Bryan Sellers will pilot the No. 1 Total lubricants-backed Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO around the 1.5-mile ‘bullring’ track. The duo has won at the Connecticut circuit before, claiming victory in 2018 en route to claiming the IMSA GTD championship. The pair also finished second the prior year, in 2017.
Snow and Sellers are coming off two race weeks in the Northeast at New York’s Watkins Glen International, where they claimed a podium finish in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.
The second-place finish in Watkins bolstered the Paul Miller Racing team’s stature as a championship contender, with the No. 1 currently sitting third in points at the halfway point of the 2021 IMSA season.
“It’s been a bit of an up and down year. We’ve had some really good results and some not-so-good ones this year,” Paul Miller Racing team owner, Paul Miller, said.
“The field is so competitive this year that we really have to make sure we execute in the remaining six races in order to get the best result we can in the championship, and that starts here at Lime Rock.
“The GT-only races are always great events, and being in the Northeast—where the Paul Miller dealerships are based—it’s great to get some hometown fans coming out to cheer on the team.”
Practice for the two-day weekend kicks off on Friday, July 16th at 11:25 AM, with qualifying that same day.
The two-hour, 40-minute Northeast Grand Prix goes green Saturday, July 17th at 3:10 PM.
Madison Snow
“GT-only races are always some of my favorites on the schedule. Lime Rock is a track Bryan and I know we can win at, just like we did in 2018. But, in order to win, the entire team has to be operating at 100%. This place is super unforgiving and even small mistakes can have huge consequences around such a short track.”
Bryan Sellers
“Lime Rock, in my opinion, is one of the most difficult races on the schedule. So, to be successful, you have to deal with a lot of variables such as a short lap, narrow pit windows, and extreme tire degradation. It’s a race that challenges the drivers and the crew. We have been successful there in the past, but this is a different season, and we have to step up to get the results we want.”
