Following the Le Mans September break for the European Le Mans Series, the championship heads to Italy for the penultimate 4-hour round of the season with Nielsen Racing team hoping to add more silverware to the team’s 2020 cabinet.

Nielsen will again run three entries in the Michelin Le Mans Cup with the #20 Grainmarket D08 making a welcome return to the series after being forced to miss recent French rounds due to travel restrictions. Back from a double fourth-place finish at the Road to Le Mans, Tony Wells is looking forward to keeping his 100% Monza Round podium record intact, while the #10 crew is looking to build on the season-best finish in the Le Castellet 240 and to keep improving.

Garett Grist, driver in the #10 Duqueine M30-D08

“I’m very excited to be back at Monza this weekend. So far, both years I’ve competed in the 4 Hours of Monza I’ve been on the podium. Is a track I really enjoy, is great for racing, you have passing opportunities in the chicane. The weather is questionable every time, before you arrive and the whole week you’re here, it is constantly changing. This time of the year we should be expecting some colder weather and there’s some rain on the radar, which will make the weekend very interesting. Luckily, I’m a big fan of the wet and we had some wet running so far this year at Paul Ricard.

“We are coming off from our best result of the season with a P5, I think anytime you can finish top-five in the ELMS you should be very happy; it is the highest level of sportscars, especially for P3. This weekend we’re looking to carry our momentum and keep improving as a team and maybe, we can get ourselves on the podium!

“In Le Mans Cup, we were a bit disappointed last year, we missed out on our best result of the year. If Rob puts another good stint and then I put a good stint, I think we can aim for a top-five finish, as it’s a track we both like and should be good for the Duqueine. The team has been working hard, we’ve been working hard, we will give it our best and have a good weekend.”
