MONTAPLAST BY LAND-MOTORSPORT LINES UP WITH CHRISTOPHER MIES AND RICARDO FELLER IN THE ADAC GT MASTERS
One former champion, a race winner, and a fresh new look: armed with new and familiar weapons, Montaplast by Land- Motorsport is looking to have a say in the title race in the 2021 ADAC GT Masters. Former champion Christopher Mies (31/Heiligenhaus) and youngster Ricardo Feller (20/CH) will be at the wheel of the first Audi R8 LMS fielded by the team from Westerwald region in the German GT Championship. This season’s ADAC GT Masters kicks off from 14th to 16th May at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
“We have a strong duo, with whom we can challenge at the front of the field again this year,” says an assured team manager, Christian Land. “Both drivers have often demonstrated their ability and are very familiar with the series. We know from the past that Chris and Ricardo work well together. As such, we can line up with plenty of confidence.”
Since the team joined the ADAC GT Masters in 2016, the experienced Christopher Mies has been a permanent fixture at Land-Motorsport. He won the title in that first year, and is already in his sixth season with Wolfgang Land’s team. “I think we are well prepared,” says the Audi Sport driver. “The last few years have been challenging and have shown how fiercely-competitive the ADAC GT Masters is. It is extremely important to have a strong team-mate.”
His driving partner Ricardo Feller made his debut in the ADAC GT Masters in 2017 and, after a year away, now returns to Montaplast by Land-Motorsport. His most successful season to date came with the team from Niederdreisbach in 2019: the Swiss won one race, claimed two podium finishes and ended the year in fifth place in the championship. “I am delighted to be part of Land-Motorsport again, particularly with Chris Mies at my side. Our expectations are clear. We want to challenge for the title. And we have a good chance of doing so,” says the 20-year-old.
Land has opted for familiar colours in the design of the number 29 car. The combination of red and blue has always played an important role in the history of the team – not least as a key element in the logo. In 2021, the livery will feature both these colours and the familiar green from previous years.
Montaplast by Land-Motorsport will announce the driver line-up for the second Audi R8 LMS at a later date.
