Will the fastest teams during yesterday’s qualifying retain their advantage at the second session this evening? Find out when the track action gets underway at 7 pm! Before that, there’s plenty to see and do, with the fun fair, exhibition and support races to keep you entertained until the green flag signals the start of the qualifiers. Just make sure you leave plenty of time to get through the security checks at the car park entrance!

Arnage dans la course puts the spotlight on Henri Pescarolo and Matra

For the fourth year running, the Arnage dans la course event is one of the highlights for Thursday in the run-up to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This year, it pays tribute to Henri Pescarolo and Matra. It is definitely worth a visit, first of all for the stunning display of cars that will be on show. The event is held on Place de la Mairie and Arnage’s main street, from 09:00 to 17:00.

Enjoy all the fun of the fair!

Everyone loves the thrills of a traditional fun fair and 24 Hours of Le Mans fans are no different. The huge Ferris wheel towers over a range of quintessential fairground attractions including rip-roaring rides, air-rifle shooting, games of skill, bumper cars and more. Enjoy the inimitable atmosphere of a fun fair without having to leave the circuit!

Visit the 24 Hours of Le Mans Museum and its current exhibition

If you have a General Enclosure ticket, you can visit the museum free-of-charge anytime during race week. Alongside the 120 cars in the museum’s permanent collections, there is currently an exhibition on the only French Formula One Grand Prix to be held on the Bugatti Circuit, back in 1967. Visit and admire the Brabham Repco BT24 that won that race. Free for under-16s.

The Porsche Carrera Cup in action

The Porsche Carrera Cup is a curtain-raiser to this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans and is a unique opportunity for its drivers to take to one of the most famous circuits in the world. The Porsche Carrera Cup France has three separate classifications: the overall ranking for all drivers, a special ranking for gentleman drivers (B-licence drivers only) and one for ‘young talent’ (aged under 26 and competing in their first full Porsche Carrera Cup France season). There are two free practice sessions on the agenda : from 10:30 to 11:15, then from 11:55 to 12:40. Qualifying will take place from 15:30 to 16:30. There will be 62 cars out on the track. Entry list.

Competitors in the Road to Le Mans all out for pole position ahead of their first race

There are a few changes for the Road To Le Mans race this year. In fact, there are now two races and the number of entrants has been increased to 46. After free practice yesterday, the competitors have two 20-minute qualifying sessions today, and will be going all-out to bag pole position. The first race will take place from 17:30 to 18:25 and is part of the Michelin Le Mans Cup. Entry list.

Pilot a flight simulator at the Air Force Pavilion

The French Air Force will welcome spectators at two special areas: the Air Force Pavilion in the Fan Zone, and a stall in the Village. From 15:00 to 24:00 at the Air Force Pavilion, visitors will have a unique opportunity to pilot a flight simulator and to take a seat in a real fighter jet!

Enjoy some pampering at the Women’s Pavilion

The Women’s Pavilion is now a regular feature in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race village. With its garden and covered terrace, the Pavilion offers the growing number of female visitors to the 24 Hours of Le Mans somewhere to unwind in glamorous, modern yet refined surroundings with a chance to meet personalities from the world of motorsport, and plenty more besides. New this year: the Oyster & Champagne Bar event organised by La Mer à Boire, and refreshing Tamarindo smoothies to enjoy while relaxing in this lovely, peaceful atmosphere, reserved for women only.

The 60 competitors in the 24 Hours of Le Mans on track from 19:00 to 21:00

Everyone pretends that pole position is of no importance in a 24-hour endurance race, but don’t believe them! For manufacturers like Toyota and Porsche, taking pole is crucial as it makes headline news across the world. The qualifying sessions are always the scene of the first achievements and sometimes also of the first moments of anguish as drivers test their car’s limits.

Jive Me in concert

This group comes from Bordeaux and draws on an eclectic range of sounds from electro-swing to hip-hop to create their own vintage style. They will be live on stage near the Dunlop Bridge at 20:00.

The Celtic Social Club in concert

Inspired by the Buena Vista Social Club and the New Orleans Social Club, the Celtic Social Club was formed in 2013 by drummer and producer Manu Masko. The Celtic Social Club blends traditional Celtic tunes with rock, blues, folk, reggae, kan ha diskan and hip-hop. See them live at the 24 Hours of Le Mans at 21:30 this Thursday.

As night falls, the race for pole continues

This is the decisive moment. As the sun sets on the circuit, you could be forgiven for thinking that the chase for pole position is over. Think again! Every year in the last few minutes of this session, the air is thick with drama as the sprinters of the best teams do their utmost to clock the best time. It’s guaranteed to send shivers down your spine!
