Alex Job Racing drivers Bill Sweedler (Westport, Conn.) and Townsend Bell (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) are heading to Lime Rock Park for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Northeast Grand Prix this weekend, July 21-22.

The track located two-and-a-half hours north of New York City, Lime Rock Park is a short circuit measuring just 1.5-miles. The little track in a valley has just seven-turns, comprised of six right-handers and one left-hand turn. Lap times for the GTD Class cars will be in the range of 53-seconds. This will have the drivers, crew members and strategists on their toes for two-hours-and-forty minutes on Saturday.

“Lime Rock is my home track so I’m always excited to race there,” Sweedler said. “Skip Barber has invested heavily in the track and it shows. The fans, the location, and the action on track will make for an amazing event. The Audi has been strong the past couple races, so we are optimistic that AJR will have to car fast this weekend for Townsend and I. Lime Rock is the tightest, most compact race track the Weathertech Series visits. It will be very physical for the drivers as there is very little time between turns along with constant traffic with 24 cars on track between GTD and GTLM. It should be a street battle out there.”

“I love racing at Lime Rock,” Bell said. “It’s probably the most charming little race track in the world. At 50-second lap times, it races more like a short oval. Bill is a local hero there and I always enjoy seeing the crowd come out to support him.”

“Bill and Townsend are ready to have a solid weekend,” Alex Job, team owner said. “We’ve had a couple of tough outings these past couple of races at The Glen and Sebring. The Audi is looking good with a win in the last race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, so it should run well on the short track at Lime Rock Park.”
