Damiano Fioravanti joins Alessandro Bressan and Andreas Laskaratos behind the wheel of the #18 1AIM Villorba Corse Ligier JS P320 Nissan for the whole 2021 European Le Mans Series campaign, starting from Barcelona in mid-April.
While in 2020 Bressan and Laskaratos have already shared the LMP3 prototype at Sepang and on the occasion of the win in Buriram, Fioravanti is making his debut with the Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio. Born in 1996, the Roman driver has already competed in ELMS and in the LMP3 category two seasons ago on a Norma.
Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal: “It will be a pleasure to get back working together with Alessandro and Andreas and we all welcome Damiano, who has already done well in the series. He is a promising driver with whom we are sure we can get important results on track. The team is now completed and we are definitely ready for this new, significant season.”
Damiano Fioravanti: “I know that 1 AIM Villorba Corse is a high-level team and that we could get important results together already this season. In 2020 I only took part in two races on a GT car, but I am confident that I will find a good feeling in the Ligier and with the team so that I can get back into the rhythm very soon. The official pre-season test will help us for sure. I also know ELMS, which is a very challenging championship, and all the situations that you can find on track and in the pits. I really hope we can compete for top positions.”
