EDOARDO LIBERATI RETURNS TO LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE AND VS RACING FOR NÜRBURGRING ROUND
After over one year Edoardo Liberati is set to return to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. The last appearance of the Roman racer in the one-make series was last season at Misano, when starting from the first row of the grid at the wheel of one of the VS Racing’s Huracán Super Trofeo Evos, a drive through penalty prevented him to finished first.
13 months later Liberati will drive again a car of the team led by Vincenzo Sospiri, entering the fifth of six double rounds of the season scheduled on the 5,100 meters of the Nürburgring track, pairing with Pro-Am leader Andrzej Lewandowski.
Alongside the Pole, Liberati will try to repeat the story, following the 2015 Pro-Am Asian title.
This year the Italian racing driver took part in the 24H Spa-Francorchamps claiming a good 12th position in a KCMG Porsche following a huge recovery. Moreover he entered the 24H Nürburgring with poor luck and some of the NLS rounds at the Nordschleife track.
“I’m really happy to race at the Nürburgring for VS Racing. When they gave me the news last Saturday, I answered yes!”, Liberati commented. “Entering the German weekend will let me to take part in the World Final at Misano on late October. It’s more than one year I haven’t raced a Huracán Super Trofeo Evo, but here at the Nürburgring is almost to be at home for me.”
Free practices – two sessions each of one hour – will start on Friday. Qualifying one and two, both of 20 minutes, are schedued on Saturday at 10.55 and 11.25, with the Race 1 start at 15.55. The second of the 50-minute races will commence on Sunday at 11.30, live streamed at the Lamborghini Squadra Corse YouTube channel.
