United Autosports are pleased to confirm that Duncan Tappy will join their Road to Le Mans team this year, racing alongside John Schauerman.

Duncan will be racing the #23 Ligier JS P320 in place of Wayne Boyd, who will race for United’s LMP2 team in the Le Mans 24 Hours this year.

Duncan is currently racing for United Autosports ELMS team but has raced at the Road to Le Mans event five times before, including last year with United Autosports. He won the second of the two races in 2018 and finished on the podium in 2016, 2017 and 2019.

United Autosports can also confirm they will be running four cars in this year’s Road to Le Mans event. Their regular Le Mans Cup entries of championship leaders, Gerry Kraut and Scott Andrews in the #22, John and Duncan in the #23 and Daniel Schneider and Andy Meyrick in the #32 will be joined by a fourth car, which is still to be announced.

The Road to Le Mans event acts as round four of the Michelin Le Mans Cup. United Autosports are leading the LMP3 championship with Gerry Kraut and Scott Andrews and are also sitting in third place with John Schauerman and Wayne Boyd in the #23 Ligier JS P320.

Duncan Tappy

“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the #23 car for the Road to Le Mans race. A big thank you to Richard and John for drafting me in. After a really strong start to the championship for John and Wayne, I will be pushing like crazy to keep that momentum going for them and I’d like to wish Wayne all the best in the 24-hour race. It’s a race I have had quite a lot of success at in the past, so I can’t wait to see what we can do.”

Zak Brown

“I’m pleased that Duncan will be joining our Road to Le Mans team again this year and I would like to thank him for standing in for Wayne and racing alongside John.”

Richard Dean

“As soon as we knew Wayne would be in the 24-hour race, we knew we’d need to replace him with a trusted pair of hands. John was happy for us to put Duncan in that car to race with him and to keep him battling for the championship as he has been all year so far. I’m looking forward to seeing how they get on.”
