DANIEL SCHNEIDER AND ANDY MEYRICK TO RETURN TO UNITED AUTOSPORTS FOR 2022 MICHELIN LE MANS CUP
United Autosports are pleased to confirm that Daniel Schneider and Andy Meyrick will return to their Michelin Le Mans Cup team for 2022.
The pair, who first joined United Autosports for the 2020 season are preparing for their third season in the Le Mans Cup racing the #32 Ligier JS P320. They will both be aiming to improve on their 2020 and 2021 seasons, scoring a podium at Paul Ricard in 2020 and a fourth place at the prestigious Road to Le Mans event last August.
The 2022 Michelin Le Mans Cup season begins at Paul Ricard in April before moving onto Imola for the first time in the championship’s history. The Road to Le Mans event will take place in the usual June slot, before visiting a new circuit at the Hungaroring. Then after a break, the series returns to Spa in September, finishing with the season finale in Portimao in October.
Daniel and Andy will join already announced Shaun and Max Lynn and John Schauerman and Wayne Boyd in the United Autosports Michelin Le Mans Cup team. The team will also be running a fourth Ligier JS P3, with the drivers, and a special livery and a new sponsor due to be revealed in the coming days.
Daniel Schneider
“2022 will be my third season racing for United Autosports and I couldn’t be more excited about it. The first two years were definitely crucial to acquaint myself with the LMP3 car so I believe I’m able to push much harder next year and eventually put in place a championship campaign. That’s the hard part of the job. The easy part was to settle in at United and to get along with Andy Meyrick. It’s a privilege to race for a team that’s professional and friendly at the same time. And it’s awesome to have such a talented driver like Andy to help me in developing my skills. I’m looking forward to the next Michelin Le Mans Cup season. Game on!”
Andy Meyrick
“I am absolutely delighted to be back for a third year with United and also with Daniel. If we’re honest, the 2021 season wasn’t what we were hoping for, but I am confident we can learn from those races and make a really strong 2022 championship campaign.”
Zak Brown
“Daniel and Andy had some bad luck this season, which didn’t give them the results they deserved. Next year we are hopeful that they will be regular visitors to the podium and be able to get a championship challenge underway.”
Richard Dean
“Working with Daniel and Andy is great as they both just love being at a racetrack. I’m looking forward to working with them again next year and hopefully getting some podium finishes and a decent championship campaign up and running.”
