The curtain falls this weekend on FIA WEC championship that heads for the second time to Sakhir, in Bahrain, eight and the last round of a very long season that started from Silverstone on September 2019.

Cetilar Racing – the only 100 per cent Italian team in the Sport Prototype category – has confirmed the presence fielding as usual the #47DallaraLMP2 car run by AF Corse for Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi.

More than one month after is fourth appearance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, that ended 10th in the class and 14th overall over 59 entries, Cetilar Racing heads to the Persian Gulf aiming to finish in the best way what has been a difficult year, looking forward a new challenge, with new motivations, after having gained knowledge and experience in the European Le Mans Series and FIA WEC.

“We’re heading to the last round of the season, ready to do the best we can. Nevertheless our thoughts are to the current difficult situation in Italy and worldwide” Lacorte explained. “It is not easy to be here, at the 8 Hours of Bahrain. Anyway we decided to overcome the difficulties and respect our program to put an end to the season. We do that also for motorsport fans in these very tough times, thinking all the people are fighting pandemic”.

This weekend’s 8 Hours of Bahrain will be the second in the 2019/2020 season following the last December edition, when Cetilar Racing – that sits seventh in the Team standings – finished ninth in the LMP2 category, with Lacorte and Sernagiotto making their debut at the Sakhir circuit.
Free practice one will kick-off the racing weekend on Thursday afternoon, with two more sessions scheduled on Friday, followed by qualifying at 18:30 (16:30 CEST). The race will start on Saturday at 2pm local time (12:00 CEST).
