B-QUIK ABSOLUTE RACING READY FOR ACTION AS THAILAND SUPER SERIES HEADS TO BURIRAM FOR ROUND 2
B-Quik Absolute Racing is headed for Buriram’s Chang International Circuit this week for Round 2 of Thailand Super Series (TSS) 2022 with an unchanged line up across our four-car entry of Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2 racecars in the headlining Super Car GT3 category plus a brace of cars in Super Car GTC and further entries across the supporting categories.
After bedding in a very significant step up for the team during the opening round of TSS 2022, the prestigious Bangsen Grand Prix held almost two months ago, that included an influx of new drivers as we doubled up our roster of GT3 entries, as well as infrastructure and personnel growth across the team, we now approach the trip eastwards to Buriram with a settled driver line up that is up to speed although the team’s behind the scenes evolution has continued apace during the last month and a half.
That means B-Quik Absolute Racing is ready and raring to chase for wins, podiums and a large helping of championship points when the races go to green lights across this coming Saturday and Sunday, the usual double header format meaning this weekend will see Race’s 3 & 4 of the season and, significancy, when the dust settles, we will be at the championship’s halfway point so results this weekend are crucial.
Our Super Car GT3 roster will again comprise of a quartet of Audi R8 LMS GT3s all equipped with the new 2022 “Evo 2” specification, to be driven by Henk Kiks/Eshan Pieris, Sandy Stuvik/Akash Nandy, Daniel Bilski/Philip Massoud and Vincente Floirendo/Pierre Kaffer.
Meanwhile, in Super Car GTC our entry will double up with the arrival of our new “Gen 2” Porsche Cayman RS Clubsport, which will be driven by Greg Bennett and he will be joined on the GTC grid by Adisak Tangphuncharoen in the “Gen 1” version, the young Thai driver successfully debuting in the category in Bangsaen.
The B-Quik Junior Programme will also be in the thick of the action with its usual roster of two Honda Brios in Super Eco, to be driven by Adisak Tangphuncharoen and Attapon Kaewarsa, while in Super Showroom Sathaporn Veerachue will be behind the wheel of our Toyota Vios.
B-Quik Absolute Racing is supported by B-Quik, Quik Pro, Mobil 1, Bendix, Yuasa, IM and WAC Car Detailing.
Henk Kiks: “I’m looking forward to getting back on track in Buriram this week! As a team we’ve certainly had a lot of success here and we are hungry for more. We’ve been making big steps in terms of our growth for the future this year, further building blocks have been put in place since Bangsaen, so we are looking forward to the next stage of the season, to keep dialling those changes in and to get out there and fight. In terms of the #26 car, I’m very happy with the new partnership with Eshan, I think we kicked off very well in Bangsaen, delivered what we expected and we can now can progress further in Buriram, get faster and target the podium again.”
Eshan Pieris: “I’m looking forward to Round 2 of TSS with the team this time in Buriram. It’s been a long wait since Round 1 and I’m happy to be racing again with Henk. We will be pushing for some good results.”
Sandy Stuvik: “I’m ready for Round 2 of TSS back at Buriram and I’m looking forward to seeing what myself and Akash are able to do. We have a great pairing, both of us are very consistent and fast, so we should be a threat in both races. We’ll do our best to dial in our Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2 and as always I will be giving it my all.”
Akash Nandy: “I am super excited for Round 2 of TSS coming up this weekend. It’s been quite some time since I have been to Buriram, I previously raced there in the Asian F3 Winter Series, and I’m eager to carry on our strong momentum from the first round into this weekend. I will be looking forward to joining the team again in achieving the best results possible.”
Daniel Bilski: “I’m seriously looking forward to Buriram. It’s the first time we will race the R8 LMS Evo 2 at Buriram, so I’m sure we will have a lot to learn to get the right balance. The car was fantastic in Bangsaen, but Buriram is an entirely different type of track, where we have to run the car a lot lower and lean on the aero balance a lot more. I felt great in the car in the last round so I can’t wait to strap in for the first practice in Buriram. We have a lot of points to make up to close the gap to the championship leaders so there will be no messing about. We’re going there with a single goal in mind. Win.”
Philip Massoud: “I am excited for the next round, the goals are clear and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to persue them.”
Pierre Kaffer: “I’m really looking forward to being back with B-Quik Absolute Racing. I think the first race together with Vincente was a good one, it was good to be back with the team, it felt like I was at home and I’m pretty sure in Buriram it will be a good weekend as the team is well prepared for this race. We know we have a strong pace and know we have a good team so it’s up to the drivers to approach it in a good and positive way. I’m looking forward to working with Vincente again and I’m sure he will be quick in Buriram.”
Greg Bennett: “I’m feeling confident in the hands of B-Quik Absolute AFRacing for the Thailand Super Series 2022 in the GTC class and grateful to my sponsors Amerasian Fragrance Research and V-Sachet. Just coming out of the Cup car in the USA, I’m looking forward to figuring out what the Cayman is capable of on the Buriram track. With so many great drivers in the series, getting #11 onto a podium step will be challenging, but rest assured that I will be giving it my best and with a big grin on my face.”
