B-Quik Absolute Racing is pleased to announce driver line ups for the much delayed opening round of Thailand Super Series 2021 which takes place on 27-31 October at Chang International Circuit: Sandy Stuvik and Philip Massoud will drive the No 1 Audi while Martin Rump has been drafted into the team to share the No 26 Audi with Daniel Bilski.
The team’s pleased to have put this strong and well-rounded driver line up together as it goes into the delayed 2021 season. In fact, this opening round is six months behind schedule due to the knock-on effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
B-Quik Absolute Racing is chasing a hattrick of titles in Super Car GT3 having won both the Teams’ and Drivers’ Championships in both 2019 and 2020 – and will once again enter the two MY2019 Audi R8 LMS GT3 cars, very confident in the capabilities of these racecars which powered the team to unprecedented results over the past two years.
Those two Drivers’ titles came courtesy of Sandy Stuvik, who has enjoyed a perfect first two seasons with the team, and we reckon that the Thai driver is again well placed to push for a third title this year.
So, we’re delighted to confirm that Sandy will remain with the team and will be partnered by Philip in the No 1 car this year.
Philip – a former Thailand TA V8 champion – joined B-Quik Absolute Racing for the first-time last year and the Australian immediately impressed everyone with his raw pace and ability to knuckle down and learn quickly on what was his first season at FIA GT3 level.
The rejigging of our driver line ups, which sees Philip move across to the No 1 car, meant we needed a very strong driver in the No 26 car to compliment Daniel Bilski who won the 2020 Super Car GT3 Drivers’ title.
Thus we are happy to announce that the Australian will be joined by Martin Rump who returns to the team after a very successful season with us in 2019. We’re delighted it’s come together to have Martin in black and yellow again and we really expect fireworks, Daniel and Martin is a terrific line up that is set up and ready to chase for success.
B-Quik Autowerks will shortly announce the driver line ups of its two Porsche 991 GT3 Cups.
B-Quik Absolute Racing is supported by B-Quik, Mobil 1, Bendix, Yuasa, Carsome, IM and WAC Car Detailing.
Sandy Stuvik: “As anticipation builds for the first round I am excited to be getting back behind the wheel. It is with great pleasure that we welcome Carsome aboard and I am thoroughly looking forward to representing all our sponsors at the front of the grid! This season is sure to be a challenge for us, as we strive for that illustrious hattrick of championships but as always I will bring my maximum commitment and together as a team we will create the best package possible in order to have another shot at the title. I’m excited to be sharing the car with Philip this season, after he showed great potential in his first year at the GT3 level. We are ready to give it our all.”
Philip Massoud: “I’m excited to continue racing with B-Quik Absolute Racing for 2021 in the Audi R8 LMS GT3. This time in the double championship winning number No 1 car with the very talented Sandy Stuvik. It’s going to be a challenging season but with the support of the perfectionist B-Quik Absolute Racing, I’m eager to get in and fight for the title.”
Daniel Bilski: “It’s been tough year for everyone, so I can’t adequately express how excited I am to be back. This year will be my eighth year with the team but the desire to get back on track is stronger than ever. Expectations are high, and as a team, we are, as always, solely focused on securing the titles. I’m very excited to be sharing the #26 Audi with Martin Rump. Our goal is simple – we have a Teams’ and Drivers’ Championship to win. We’re back. And we are hungry for another title.
Martin Rump: “I’ve nothing but fond memories of TSS in the 2019 season and I’m elated to be returning in 2021! B-Quik Absolute Racing is a force to be reckoned with and I’m proud to be part of its two strong entry of Audi R8 LMS GT3s. We’ve been to Buriram many times before, so we know what we need to do to find our maximum performance. By working together, I’m certain that we’ll be giving the other teams a tough fight. Pairing up with my mate Dan – last year’s overall champion. Yes, I’m feeling strong.”
