1AIM Villorba Corse gets back on track in Austria for the second round of the European Le Mans Series. Entered in the LMP3 class, the Italian team is ready to compete in the 4 Hours of Red Bull Ring, which will take place on May 14-16 on the 4.218km track nestled in the foothills of the Styrian Alps. The squad led by Raimondo Amadio confirms their Ligier JS P320 powered by Nissan for the crew formed by Alessandro Bressan, Damiano Fioravanti and Andreas Laskaratos. The team clinched a promising fourth place in last month’s opening race in Barcelona, very close to a podium finish.
A total of 41 crews (with 16 cars in LMP3) are expected at the start of the 4 Hours of the Red Bull Ring. After two free practice sessions and qualifying, to be held on Saturday from 15:10hs (Central European Time), the race kick off on Sunday, May 16 at 11:00hs CET with live streaming on www.europeanlemansseries.com .
Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal, said: “Red Bull Ring is a particular circuit, short but very challenging. We come from Barcelona’s fourth position, in Austria we have to try to score valuable points as well. Weather forecasts are not so good at the moment and we will have to manage traffic on track, but we have a consistent drivers’ line up and this makes us confident about the weekend”.
Bressan added: “After the great performance in Barcelona, I can’t wait to be back on track to continue this positive trend. Red Bull Ring is a new track for me, and it will represent a new challenge, but I’m sure that we’ll be able to work with the team in order to be competitive and be able to aim to another prestigious result on Sunday”.
