Steve Jenks scored his first career F2000 Championship Series victory on Sunday morning at Road Atlanta. Jenks, starting from the outside of the front role in the No.68, took the lead at the drop of the green and fended off a race-long challenge from 2017 Champion Brandon Dixon, who finished second. Series rookie David Durrett finished a strong third while Simon Sikes beat Reece Everard to the line for a photo finish for fourth. Full Results.

Quotes:

Jenks: “I’ve never done a restart in this Series in the lead before; so I was frantically thinking what the rules were, but I figured as long as I didn’t pass the pace car I’d be in good shape. Brandon’s car is fast in a straight line, and I wanted to get a gap. I was running scared the last two laps , those were the fastest laps I ran the whole race.”

Dixon: “Steve got a better start than I did, and we were determined to get through turn one clean. There was no need to end everyone’s weekend right there. I didn’t have anything for Steve; he was going to need to make a mistake for me to get by an he drove a great race.”
