Arden Motorsport has signed young SMP racing driver Egor Orudzhev for a second consecutive season in pursuit of the Formula3.5 V8 Championship.

The 20 year old Russian will compete in the newly titled Formula3.5 V8 Championship for the 2016 season. Egor had a successful rookie season, finishing 5th in the Drivers’ Championship, winning at the fourth round at the Hungaroring in Budapest, finishing second and also winning again in the races at Le Mans and finishing second at the season finale in Jerez. The team had a constructive post-season testing schedule with Egor, working through preparations for the 2016 season.

Formula3.5 V8 has released a provisional nine-event calendar for the 2016, seeing Paul Ricard and Monza returning to the schedule following a twelve-month absence. The Series will join other headline events such as Blancpain Endurance, GT Open and World Touring Car Championship.

“I am delighted to be with Arden again for another season. Next year could be a very good year, I am aiming to fight for the top 3 positions at every round and of course fight for the Championship. I have good knowledge of the car now and working with the team, so I am more confident going into a second season. It will be good to continue in the manner that we finished the 2015 season. Thank you to SMP for their continued support.”

Julian Rouse, General Manager, Arden

“It’s great to have Egor back with us next season in F3.5 V8, he was a revelation in the 2015 season winning 2 races , I think it has opened people’s eyes to his talent and also shows the high level that our team works to as it is was the second season in a row we had fantastic results with a rookie driver. If we can build on the consistency which naturally comes in a drivers second season in a category, then the Championship title is definitely a realistic target.
