Bruno Carneiro (19) was in commanding form at Zhuhai on the weekend of rounds 3&4 of the 2019 Asian Formula Renault Series, as the Asia Racing Team driver claimed his first win in the Asian Formula Renault Series at the Zhuhai International Circuit.

Asia Racing Team five-car squad scored a race win, a third place finish and a brace of top-five finishes at the Asian Formula Renault Series’ second trip to Zhuhai of 2019, resulting in the outfit consolidating the team’s lead in the Teams’ Championship.

The Brazilian-born Utah-resident Bruno Carneiro led the way within the team, qualifying second for the opening race of the weekend. In race one Carneiro couldn’t keep his second place, but he managed to claim the final spot on the rostrum.

But the best was kept for last. Starting from second on the grid, Carneiro ruled up his slaves to put out a faultless performance in his #21 Formula Renault Tatuus 2.0. Two safety-car periods didn’t prevent Carneiro to clinch his first win in the series. He lies now in 3rd in the drivers’ standings.

Commenting about the race weekend, Team Manager Rodolfo Avila said:

“Our aim this weekend was to make the most of the package we had and we can claim that our drivers succeeded. Bruno drove an amazing second race, and this first place is just reward for all the hard work he has done, along with the team.”

Rounds 5, 6 and 7 of the 2019 Asian Formula Renault will take place at Tianjin V1 Circuit, 100 Kms from Beijing China.

The 2019 Asian Formula Renault Series, has 9 more races left in the calendar. Next rounds 5,6 & 7 in Tianjin On July 11-14, rounds 8,9 & 10 in Malaysia in August and the final 3 rounds also in Malaysia by the end of the September.

Bruno’s biggest disadvantage in comparison to the other drivers in the series, are the number of available NEW sets of tires for test days.
For the first two rounds due to his financial constrains, Bruno’s test sessions have been done on used tires, while the other racers had brand new tires to find the proper grip and car set up for the qualifying and races.

The Asian Formula Renault Series, will make it’s first visit to the brand new Tianjin V1 Circuit next week, which means no data available for any team or driver.
Because of that, the series are offering three 30 minute sessions of practice on Thursday and four 30 minute sessions on Friday. A total of 3 hours and 30 minutes track time for testing and development.

Bruno is fully covered for the race weekend on Saturday and Sunday but is still looking for sponsors to back him up for the test sessions and sets of tires.

The prices are:

Test Session: US$ 900
Set of Giti Tires: US$ 1,090

Please let us know if you or your company would like to sponsor Bruno! You can submit your sponsorship via PayPal, Venmo or Check.

Thank you!
